Powerful and portable machine with great battery life.

Great, portable, gaming and workstation laptop. I used this laptop as my daily driver for the past year and it boasts incredible performance for my 3D modeling, UX design, and gaming needs.

Display (4/5): the display is above average, it'll get the job done for most tasks. You should be plugged into the wall while playing demanding games and the screen brightness is perfect when plugged in. When mobile, I use the display at 50-80% brightness to get the most out of my battery life.

Battery (5/5): this thing slaps for a gaming laptop. I can get up to 8-9 hours while on battery saver and running web browser, Microsoft office apps, and photo-editing or graphic design programs. Don't expect to do extensive gaming while unplugged, the GPU is throttled to lower temperatures and maximize battery life. It only lasts about 2-3 hours when gaming unplugged.

Build (4/5): great build for a windows laptop. It feels sturdy and all of the materials feel solid.

Performance (5/5): a beast for a portable gaming laptop. The AMD Ryzen 5900HS is impressive even when compared to the more expensive intel 9th generation CPUs. When using Blender 3D software, it renders faster than the i7 12900K I'm using on my desktop PC.

Portability (4/5): it's no ultrabook or macbook but it's not going to get much better for a laptop that can handle heavy heat loads and has a dedicated GPU.

Overall (4/5): I love this laptop, especially for the price. It's still a windows laptop and ASUS armoury crate is subpar. Expect to make a few tweaks with each major update of windows, but this is common with all windows gaming laptops. The screen is ideal for gamers but not the best in class for creatives. Overall it's one of the better choices. Check out Dave 2Ds youtube review of this laptop for a more in depth review!

People Leaving Bad Reviews Are Crazy. This Thing is Awesome

The Zephyrus G15 is easily one of the best laptops of 2021, even going into 2022 it’s an amazing and powerful machine. Plug it into an external monitor to get a performance boost that allows it to perform on par with higher wattage laptops.

As far as features, you’re getting a very premium machine. The speakers, keyboard, touchpad, screen, and battery life are absolutely amazing for a gaming laptop. It’s extremely color accurate too which is good for creators and you can expand storage a bit with a micro SD card slot. Overall the laptop is super lightweight, thin, and the power supply is compact as well compared to its competitors.

One stick of ram is soldered but this has already been proven to not be a big deal (watch Jarrod’s Tech ram video and Dave2D) unless you’re creating with extreme intensive 3D or 8k video workloads. Games never use more than about 10gb at the most.

This laptop can run pretty much any AAA game at max settings with no problem! And the 5900HS CPU is insanely powerful and efficient. Asus support is great as well. Get this laptop!

It does not live up to its hype

I really wanted to like this model but Ryzen CPUS are now behind Intel's in most games and in creation. And then this Asus laptop has one soldered on RAM which limits its future proofing significantly. It is not a good investment.

And be mindful that Ryzen laptops do not have thunderbolt ports, so you are further constrained in what expansions/peripherals you can use down the road.

Also asus does not offer onsite warranty for this laptop (or any of their laptops). So not reliable as a work machine.

Overheats, bad customer support from Asus. Avoid at all costs

In my experience using this laptop, shows the limitations in term of heat management, and graphics performance. Asus limits the power delivery for this GPU compared to other alternatives and the lack of the best connectivity (no thunderbolt) basically ruins your chances to improve its performance later on. Do yourself a favor and avoid this laptop. Read full review...

Hiccup out of the box, worrisome but otherwise OK

I have it used for a few months; Laptop has been ok so far, does what I need it to do just fine. Although the sound just randomly stopped working out of no where. I've only used my laptop about I am still exploring if it is a driver issue. Then if that doesn't work im going to see if its an issue with the computer itself. Not spending money to fix my gift if thats the case excpect a returnRead full review...
