Finally Found The Right Distortion Pedal

The Abasi PATHOS is a really good distortion pedal..I have tried at least 40+ other ones priced high to low.

My original plan has been to find the right distortion pedal to be used with my pedal board rig.

I am using the Electro Harmonix 5MM 5 watt pedal amp..this only has a single Bright/Normal toggle switch and a single volume knob, but with the right distortion pedal this small rig really sounds awesome.

I have not gotten to "crank it up yet" but I can tell even at the lowest volume possible the Abasi's distortion is just waiting to be played..its not an overly rough raw sounding distortion but so far this pedal shines where lots of others failed.

I usually put a reverb pedal before the distortion and use the smallest amount, just enough to moisten it up and the Abasi works great with other pedals..so far its low noise and using the small hand toggle switch from smooth to edge that's IMO a good description..so far I prefer the Edge position, seems like it adds more Gain and makes the most difference in sounds.
The Gain knob when fully maxed out allows the distortion to stay clear and not overly Saturated, and the entire Gain knobs sweep is usable, and the Distortion is not muddy or to dark..
This is a simple High Quality Distortion pedal..for me its definitely a Keeper.
You must try one out for yourself!
This is a terrible so-called review, but the pedal just works as planned.
I will plug it into my 2 EVH tube amps return jack and see how it acts as a separate preamp..it should sound amazing!!

Djent in a box

This is the largest amount of money I've spent on a single pedal. It was well worth it folks. I'm a big Periphery and Dream Theatre fan. This pedal gets you there. It has plenty of gain but, retains your guitars tone. It doesn't color it. Full chords sound so incredibly big and fat. I tend to stick with the smooth setting on the toggle but the edge is definitely useful in certain areas. Using an SD-1 currently in front of it to really get that Djent tone. I'm a maniac but I personally feel like a traditional distortion box at zero gain in the front end of this pedal puts you exactly where you want to be. Just my personal opinion.
I certainly hope this helps.
