Goodyear vs Toyota OEM A/C Idler Pulley
The Goodyear idler pulley is grooved to accept the same drive belt, but does not have as much "side" height to assist in keeping a wandering belt on the pulley as the OEM Toyota has. Whereas the OEM Toyota pulley's bearing is pressed in and stops against the back side of the pulley because it is solid with only one open side, the Goodyear is a press-through design allowing access to the bearing from either side or no "wrong-way" mounting. However, should this sealed bearing fail on the Goodyear, the possibility exists that the belt could be thrown whereas the Toyota might not because the bearing is in effect contained within the pulley and the mounting bolt/washer. It is a good dollar value with I presume a fair life expectancy of about 75-100K miles.Read full review...
