I have long been a fan of Duke Robillard and his focusing of his virtuosity to the benefit of the song. This is an exceptional collection of solo pieces (My Old Kentucky Home on banjo opens the album) and collaborations (a particularly beautiful duet with the late, great pianist Jay McShann, for one).
