The original and the best

The radio reception quality of older Fiat 500 cars is a known issue with Fiat owners. It usually comes down to moisture getting into the aerial base (not the aerial itself). For this reason the aerial base must be replaced. It's not brain surgery to do this, and there are 'how to' videos on YouTube that will guide you through the process.
One word of warning though: DON'T go for the cheapest compatible base you can find. I did and discovered that compatibility does not mean a perfect fit. By the time I had struggled to make it fit and then tried to clip the leads together, I realised they just weren't going to snap together unless I performed radical surgery - which I did. The result after all the effort - no difference in reception.
I decided to buy the genuine part and it fitted like a glove, definitely improving reception so that I could pick up new radio stations and the old ones were suddenly loud and clear. As with FM reception, the radio station will still 'fade' now and then when I drive through areas of poor reception, but I can live with that.

Easy fix of poor radio reception

Supplied in genuine Fiat packaging. Looks good quality and exactly the same as the original one on the car.
Relatively cheap and easily fitted. Just remove two clips on rear of headlining to gain access then unbolt old base with 22mm spanner and attach plug in short lead.
Instant big improvement of tuning for fm and am stations.
