Seems Like A Good Replacement For my Hummingbird Pro

I recently bought a Gibson Hummingbird Pro model acoustic. I'm not sure why it bothers me, but Gibson didn't see fit to put a normal Hummingbird pick guard on this model. So I bought this one to replace the plain one it came with. The replacement guard juuuuust barely fits over the OEM one, but there will be some fitting required around the rosette to position the guard so it covers everywhere the old one was. It should be no trouble with some fine files and sandpaper. I don't know how thick a real Gibson Hummingbird pick guard is, but this one seems very thin. Not an issue for me, but it may be for others, but it will require careful sanding as not to crack it. This guard also has an adhesive included. I haven't decided if I will use it or if I will glue down the guard just to be sure. The attached photo is of the guard just laid over the original. It is not attached yet in the photo.Read full review...

OK ish

I bought this to replace a worn pick guard on one of my 1970's Suzuki Hummingbird 9507 acoustic guitars ... I managed to remove the old guard with a hair dryer and a bit of patience ... It was only after I removed the original guard that I noticed that although the detail of the new guard is very neat and sharp and the coloring good this guard had no bevel around the edge like the old one which gave it a cheaper thinner look at close quarters ... I have to admit that I was a little disappointed as the listing title used the word GIBSON ... I certainly would never have placed this product on a Gibson guitar I'm afraid but OK ish for my Suzuki ...Read full review...

This is the original Gibson endorsed Epiphone Pick guard

This pick guard is for an Epiphone Hummingbird....it is not a copy...it is the exact product used on an Epiphone Hummingbird. The old one came off easy, and this new one went on easily and fit perfect. It is identical in size, shape, and color. It comes with adhesive already on the back. Just pull off the old one, and stick the new one on. Your Epubird will absolutely look like new again. Love it. This also fits several other sized guitars includignthe Blueridge BG-140, the Epi PR-150, the Epi AJ-100 and others..it's a high quality pickguard for the price.Read full review...

A very nice piece but just slightly wrong in size and shape

Its a very nice piece and the hummingbird pattern matched the one of my 40+ year old guitar perfectly. The problem is that the opening around the sound hole is larger then the original one. This will cause the new pick guard to be placed in a slightly different location than the original was so that it looks correct. The shape is also slightly different but only minimally.Read full review...

Good looking replacement

The artwork and colours are correctly reproduced. This went on a hummingbird clone and fit 99.5% accurately, not bad at all. The only fly in the ointment, for me, was the "shipping" cost (mailing really) which effectively doubled the price: USD$12.99 part +USD$7.99 shipping. Add the exchange rate and this cost me CAD $29! Very pricey but the cheap Chinese knock off's were too awful to consider.Read full review...

Nicely made.

It's about 1mm thick, so to me it's not too thick and not too thin. The shade of tortoise and print detail is very nice. Fit and finish is great.

Almost good pickguard

The pickguard is paper thin plastic with an adhesive backing. It is smaller than the original Hummingbird pickguard that is on the guitar. Not the same size. The graphics are very good, so it looks like the original. So I’m half pleased with this product. I was hoping for thicker plastic and exact sizing.Read full review...

Perfect fit for my Epiphone Hummingbird pro!!

Simple installation, used heat gun on low to medium setting and some lighter fluid to remove residual adhesive, once adhesive was gone I went over again with rubbing alcohol.. results were spectacular, guitar looks brand new.Read full review...

too small and poor quality

It is too small to replace an original HB pickguard and cover all of the marks. Also pretty poor quality, but that might be liveable with if it fitted!

Dressed up an Epiphone Hummingbird

Nice dress up for a beginner Epiphone Hummingbird I picked up for a friend.
About hair thinner than a .73 Tortex pick, it fits and looks great for a price that fits the guitar. Graphics are printed and the colors are correct for the model.
Easy to put on, be sure you spend a lot of time figuring out where you want placed before peeling off the backing. You only get one shot at it.
Recommended.
