Brilliant read, alarming and thought provoking and indeed life-changing.

This is a brilliant piece of writing, a must read for all those who take meds or prescribe them to become more well informed about mental illness and particularly, the " mental illness pharmaceuticals" industry. Robert Whitaker does a truly splendid analysis of the scientific literature, unbiased and measured, deeply thoughtful and with razor sharp insightfullness with respect to the questions posed and answered. If you read and listen you will became alarmed and concerned, you will also be more able to give friends good advice when they are considering the drugs only approach to their mental illness. I am an ex-research scientist and understand what it takes to assess the literature like Robert has done. IT is supremely masterful, would more psychiatrists read it and adjusted their practice accordingly.Read full review...
