New and Old favorites On Angel

The Angel Spin off of Buffy The Vampire Slayer, stands on its own. This first season introduces new characters Doyle, Charles Gun and the evil law firm of Wolfram and Hart. It also brings some old Buffy favorites into the mix such as Cordelia and Faith's ex watcher Wesley who now calls himself a rogue demon hunter, as series regulars. There are even some visits from Buffy, Spike, Faith and Oz on the first season. I only gave it a good because the second season blows it out of the water. The first season seemed to only loosely link each episode together, instead of the serial format of Buffy. Angel's second season becomes more of a serial. But for a spin off of one of the most beloved vampire shows ever, Angel entertains pretty well on its own.Read full review...

Angel Season 1: My opinion.

This first season of the Buffy: The Vampire Slayer Series, follows the exploits of Angel after he leaves Sunnydale and comes to Las Angeles. While the character of Angel is very much the downfall of the show, being very cut and dry with no real depth, the performances of David Boreanaz and the supporting cast really make up for it. The storylines in this season especially are not what a person would expect to find from this genre, being written by the extremely talented Joss Whedon. It is a very pleasent suprise to find character development and cast changing in a first season. I highly recommend this product for any fan of great storytelling on the small screen.Read full review...

Angel: Season 1

Angel is a spin-off of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
David Boreanaz and Charisma Carpenter head up the Angel cast
as "Angel" and "Cordelia". A few episodes into the season
Glenn Quinn joins the cast as "Doyle" the Irish, 1/2 man 1/2 demon,
who receives visions from the Powers That Be to help Angel right his past wrongs. Doyle immediatley falls head over heels for Cordelia.
When Doyle saves Cordy from a vampire she decides that she might like Doyle-but then his estranged wife visits. After they divorce, Cordelia and Doyle
begin to get closer. When the "Scourge" comes into town to have a mass
killing of the demons that aren't pureblood demon,
Doyle gives his life to save everyone else.
But about a minute before he dies Doyle kisses Cordelia.
He had given her the most important thing he had in the world.
Watch Angel season 1 to learn what Doyle gave Cordy before his heroic death...

From Liam to Angelus, Finally to Angel

The Angel spin off from Buffy the Vampire Slayer was like Dessert after a well deserved, hearty meal. For a while Whedon's (creator) One-Two punch of Buffy and then Angel was more than satisfying. It was heaven on TV. Both series complimented each other up to the end. Angel is an action packed, demon killing progression that breaks all the rules, quite literally. Cordy and Wesley (former characters from Buffy) aid Angel's quest to redemption, fighting all classes of evil in Los Angeles. Ranging from "Beastie" Brimstone demons with cloven feet, to pestering lawyers who serve powerful ancient demons higher on the food chain. Angel's character evolves before your eyes, and you get attached to him. You can't watch Buffy and not watch Angel. It's impossible. It’s one of those unwritten laws.Read full review...

the best vampire show begins

The show branches off the Buffy world and takes Angel on a grand adventure. The episodes seem individual, but they arc at the end of the season. You won't be able to stop watching the show.

There are a few special features like the interview and 2 commentaries.

The art work for the box is great. However the disc holders are weak and break. You will need a separate case to store them in so they don't get scratched.

Each season has a booklet that tells you the episodes, who wrote & directed them, and the original airdates.

They also stuck the security device in a place you can't remove it or it will rip & damage the paper.

Totally Seductive

Angel was a favorite of mine on the Buffy series. The DVD set lets me pick and choose my favorite episode whenever I want. The show is very engrossing and always interesting to watch. I am always searching for some entertainment that keeps my attention and I always find it in this show. The writer's imaginations make the program difficult to match. Always fresh and new. I like the plots that continue to the next episode and now I don't have to wait to find out what happens. Highly recommended. Always enjoyable.Read full review...

Angel

After being a fan of "Buffy" I guess I expected a little more from this series. Once you get accustomed to the writers on this show you get interested. I loved the idea that so many characters from "Buffy" showed up in this season to give the show its proper start.
I enjoy the idea that my 8 year old can watch it and he and I discuss the choices that some of the characters make. All in all I rather enjoyed the show and actually look forward to the next season.
