Great...but not perfect

This is best Macbook I, a business user, have owned, and I have owned a lot. Best screen, best sound, nice keyboard, neat size and weight with bulletproof build quality. So why 4 stars? Trackpad is too big leaving less space to rest hands and it has minimal travel when used. I would like more "click". The included software OS12 "Monterey" is OK, a little undercooked, especially in area of Time Machine. It doesn't play nicely with APFS formatted hard drives leaving one uncertain as to its reliability when needed. Apple are aware of this and may fix it in the future.
None of these are a deal breaker, what might be is price. Apple have reduced MRP on these, but still a little too high. Read full review...

Great laptop for content creators and programmers

A great all round laptop more useful for content creators. The base 10 core model seems to be powerful enough for most tasks. Screen is really good( you are reminded of the notch every now and then but not a big issue). I have still not heard the fans kick in . Battery life is approx 10 hrs on a single charge much better than my xps 13” . Having used only windows for my entire life this is the first Mac book I have purchased and re learning all shortcuts was bit of a pain for the first few weeks but once you get the hang of Mac OS it is ok.
If you use excel please note some advanced functionality is switched off eg power pivot and vba
I have tended to use the computer more on battery rather than on the dock given its longer battery life and better screen/ keyboard
A key part of anyone purchase decision needs to be what they will use the laptop for as is this is a very expensive purchase. So if you are using a laptop for emails, browsing and other normal tasks better off to save some money and go for the MacBook air or wait for the next version of the air…

All in all I am very happy with my purchase and looking to replace my windows machine in its entirety..
