So impressed

This obviously isn't the latest model iPad (bought in May 2017) but it's still works fantastically. I bought it as my dad was struggling to use a standard laptop (due to poor eyesight) and he's taken to this with no problems. Being able to increase the text size (Settings Accessibilty) and to 'pinch and zoom' has been really helpful.
The iPad doesn't run slowly (which was a concern with an older machine) and it arrived in better than "Good" condition, in my opinion. There are no marks on the screen and just a few marks on the back. That didn't matter as we put it straight in a case anyway.
For the price I paid I really am impressed with this iPad. It was super-quick to personalise to what my dad needed (larger text, downloading apps and books, etc) and works great.
I marked it here as not having good battery life as that's just what Apple products are like. This is no worse than other iPads and iPhones.

Very good actually but I have to say that overall I much prefer my laptop.

A very good piece of kit with a brilliant display but it depends on what you want/need it for. It has a great number of features & many useful Apps, a good number of them free. It is very fast when using the internet or eBay etc but the eBay & iTunes screen displays, for instance, are not in my view presented at all as usefully or conveniently as they appear on a laptop computer. Surprisingly the iPad lacks some obvious features that Apple should most certainly have included. First, it can only print to a compatible Airprint printer so many people buying an iPad will also have to fork out for a compatible printer. It also lacks a USB port &, astonishingly no memory card slot(s) either. I have found nothing on or for the iPad that compares with the facilities Microsoft Word offers. I do a lot of photography & I see nothing on, or for, the iPad either that compares with the photographic handling programs I have on my laptop. If you do prepare a document on the iPad's built-in rather poor Notes App, with no Airprint printer, you will have to send your document to your laptop/desktop to print it. The same with photographs or anything else, like received attachments you want to print. A simple alternative is to photograph the iPad screen with a digital camera & then put the camera's memory card in your computer to print it! The iPad camera, even on the 3rd generation model, is not that brilliant & the movie facility is handy but similarly, is nothing to write home about. I'll stick to my Lumix digital camera for photos & HD quality video. If you want to explore all the iPad features you will have to download the user's manual & I found that takes a LOT of paper! I have to say that my wife absolutely loves her iPad but I am less enamoured with mine & I am sorry to have to report that I very much prefer my Compaq laptop for all-round convenient use & as a workstation. That said I will take it on foreign holidays for internet, Skype & some Apps use. It will be great for that. I won't use it as a reader as I already have a Kindle. You can buy a very convenient wifi keyboard that also serves as a protective case that covers the front but the result is a bit heavier than I expected. You can buy a device that you can plug in to use memory cards etc but you shouldn't have to do that. Also, if you sync your iPad to a keyboard you have to unsync it before you can sync it to anything else! One important tip, if you buy a 2nd hand one, ensure that all photos are deleted first because any photos downloaded onto an iPad (from a computer) can, very strangely, only be deleted via the original owner's computer! Whether that is true of documents I am not sure. All in all, I actually do like a lot about my iPad but as you will guess, I will certainly be keeping my laptop!Read full review...

Good solid tablet...

Beinga 3rd generation ipad they're actually really nicely made. I would say i would rather have one of thea units used, compared to buying a cheap Android tablet....Only downside to these older generation tablets is that they are a bit heavy for younger children to use..which is why you should buy a protective case to put it in. Overall if bought at the right price...represents Good value still..good battery life...pretty decent performance....good screen resolution and colours.Read full review...

Moving from kindle to I pad

Just bought this second hand I pad, had a kindle fire ( my 3rd), before but in my mind I think kindle have a built in expiry time as they a seemed to stop working after about a year. Very happy with the iPad seems more solid and you can do a lot more with it, only thing I will say is the charging time on this 3 gen is a long time. The people I got it from were very good.Read full review...

Great product so far, especially for taking out and about.

I love the look, feel and function of this iPad. My first tablet, so I don't have any previous experience to compare with this one, but I loved it from the very first use, and have no complaints. I bought a Grade A refurbished one and was most alarmed when it wouldn't start up at all, completely dead one day, and had to use another computer to research the problem on Forums etc and learned about the 'soft restart' which is a common issue with ipads and iphones apparently, which I didn't realise, and it seems to have been a one-off. I am otherwise delighted with the ipad. It is a little slow to connect sometimes, but generally no other issues and I now use it instead of the laptop for everything except where a lot of typing is involved, for which a keboard is better for me as a trained typist.Read full review...

Good iPad for great price

Got this iPad refurbished at a very good price and am very happy with it. Good quality screen, slimmer than iPad 1 and good battery life. Only reason it didn't get 5* is because it can be a little slow loading but that's not a problem and to be expected in these slightly older models. I would recommend this iPad, it is a good all rounder!Read full review...

Can’t moan for the price

I got this for my mum who’s not really tech savvy, she seems to really enjoy it and gets on well with it. Screen is in great condition, however back is scratched quite bad but it didn’t bother mum as went straight into a case.Read full review...

Really Pleased - a good buy!

Bought as a refurbished item from Tesco Outlet. No signs of any marks or other usage. Value for money therefore rated as excellent as refurbished showed considerable saving to new!

Only used desktops / laptops previously but a lot of pressure from family for mum and dad / granny and grandad to get an ipad - so we did!

So far really pleased, wanted the bettr screen than ipa 2 without the cost of 4, and with software update to ios6 all is well - we can talk to it!!.

Purchased a photo / camera adapter which give us great pictures - here the higher res. screen comes into it's own. Still a lot more to discover but

Kindle app allows use of all previously loaded / purchased items.

Much more still to discover and use but really looking forward to that !!

Overall we are highly satisfied.

Excellent tablet and excellent supplier!

Bought this as a Christmas pressie for my partner and she absolutely loves it. She already had an iPhone so it took no getting use to whatsoever. There are fantastic apps out there and we are currently working our way through some. So far have been very impressed with everything about the ipad In particular the visuals. The retina display is amazing! Very very happy with my purchase and would certainly use this site again as was much cheaper than others. Only tiny tiny niggle was that it comes with a 2pin charger and adapter which is a bit bulky in the plug socket. Will probably invest in a uk charger later in the future. All in all a very happy customer :-DRead full review...
