It's just the right size, has a very responsive touchscreen, and just does what I want it to do. I have no complaints about the iPad. I've been an Android user for quite a while, but this iPad just might change my mind. I use both Overdrive and Hoopla through my local library. Perfect!

After much research on what's out on the market at this moment in time, all arrows pointed towards this tablet for ones with an 8" screen. I was not disappointed. It is spectacular. The display is ultra clear, it runs super fast and so far the battery life is good. I did debate whether this size was better or the iPad Air with 9.7" screen. I have to admit, either one would've sufficed. However, I use this to peruse the web, play games, look up stuff, all while sitting on the couch or in bed. Best tablet but pricey.

Most people know about the iPad Mini Retina. I own lots of Android tablets. From the Nexus 7 to the Samsung Galaxy tab. While I like them they fall down when it comes to battery life. The Mini is a well made classy looking device. My biggest complaint is iTunes. There is supposed to be a Jailbreak coming for IOS 7.1 and its more then welcome. You might be wondering how this compares to the first Mini. While many reviewers will say its much better... for the casual user. Get the first unit.

Its over a $100.00 more. How does this compare to the Nexus 7 2013? The Nexus in my view is a better value. Android Kitkat is great. There are also cool things of course about IOS. Facetime on the Mini is nice. Better then Skype. So should you buy it? Again for the money grab the first one. The screen isn't as sharp but on a smaller screen its not that big a deal and while this has a gb of RAM. vs. 512mg RAM on the first. Its not a big deal.Read full review...

Wish display could be set brighter to offset sunlight while flying

Ipad mini is used in an aviation capacity. Utilized to show flight charts and approach plates. Good size for use in the cockpit. light weight and easy to slip into a kneepad for use. Only problem is that screen cannot be made brighter to offset the sun while flying. During IFR operations when you are in the clouds or at night, it works fine.
