I Love My Apple iPhone 3gs!

It does all the basic phone a smart phone needs to do, gps, e-mail, surf the net, camera, etc. I will continue to order this model as long as my phone service can be received over it because it is easy to use and I don't want to learn to use another model. The newer phones have a few features that might be convenient, but not at the cost of having to learn to use another phone. It is usually at least $100 less expensive than the newer models. I would especially recommend it for youngsters, who are prone to lose or damage their phones.Read full review...

Cute phone but....

I received the phone two days before it was due to arrive!! The phone is free from scratches and dents as promised. I really liked this phone for the 1st 3 days!! On the 4th day it started searching for the network & never got reception again!! I took the phone into my carrier to check my sim card and I was told the sim card was good and replaced the sim card to prove it wasn't the sim card and it still kept searching for the network and never connected.Read full review...

Iphone 2g (AKA 1g or classic) Hardware

The hardware

Industrial design
We're just going to come out and say it: the iPhone has the most beautiful industrial design of any cellphone we've ever seen. Yes, it's a matter of taste, and while we imagine some won't agree, we find it hard to resist the handset's thoughtful minimalism and attention to detail.
The display

The iPhone features the most attractive display we've ever seen on a portable device of this size, by far and bar none. While its 160ppi resolution isn't quite photorealistic, the extremely bright 3.5-inch display does run at 480 x 320, making it one of the highest pixel-density devices around today (save the Toshiba G900's mind-popping 3-inch 800 x 480 display). The screen also provides an excellent outdoor viewing experience. With optical properties reminiscent of transflective displays, the iPhone remains completely readable (if a only bit washed out) even in direct sunlight. Unfortunately, the display's viewing angle left a little something to be desired.

Simple and Easy

I love the iPhone 3GS. Not only is it simple and easy to use but it has a lot of extra functions and capabilities. The way it can multitask while I use my GPS is incredible. I have not encountered BIG problems. The only thing was that the iPod could sometimes freeze up, but it was nothing a quick reboot wouldn't fix. I loved being able to browse online with it as well as IM, email, and the ability to sift through photos. There was not a big lag in that department either. I never felt that the touch was getting stuck or anything.

Overall, it is a GOOD phone. Not the best because I definitely could see a lot more features to it. I guess that's why there's the iPhone 4. =)

The only thing I was disappointed in was that after I inputted contacts into my gmail, it was fine and dandy to sync but I noticed that when I added my own contact manually and even though iTunes told me that it synced to my google contacts, I couldn't find it through my gmail contacts. So, I guess I have to manually input it through my contacts. But - no big deal.

It is true when they say, "If you need anything, there's an app for that."

I'm happy

Depending on what you are looking for this phone even though it is several generations old works well, is easy to use and does just what I want. Because I have an IPAD and a PC I wanted to have a phone that would maintain my calendar, contacts, texting and emails across all 3 platforms and the 3GS does it for me. Using ICloud I am able to achieve this. I am not into all the stuff the younger generation(s) want. I just want a good phone with the features I want. I can still utilize several aps that I chose. For what I paid for it on ebay and because I use Consumer Cellular for my phone service...........I'm happy.Read full review...

Still not too old to have, particularly if you are an existing iphone user.

OK, now it is 2014 and I just bought an iPhone 3GS which was released in 2009! Am I crazy? No!:)

First of all, I have iphone 4S, and iphone 5 at home. I also have ipad 2 and ipad air. This purchase is for my mom.

Pros:
1. (kind of) Up to date system. I still use iPhone 4s with iOS 6. So when I use this phone, I don't feel any aged feeling.
2. Glassy feeling. I won't say I like it, but it might be because I get used to my iphone 4S. But I also feel good to hold a so smooth object in hand.
3. Easy to find good apps. Not sure if this is an advantage, but i have already bought lots of apps so it is easy for me to set up the new iphone (or I am stuck with iOS...)
4. Language. I am also happy it can be converted to another language easily(General/International), so my mom, who doesn't speak English, can use it easily.

Cons:
1. The camera is indeed inferior. I compared the pictures and confirm the difference is obvious. But if you don't have a newer iphone, you might not realize that.
2. It is heavier than my iphone 4s.

So far that's all.

Great first smartphone, also a good value for the money you'd spend!

This is a really good phone! If you've never had a smart phone and don't want to spend a crazy amount on one, the 3GS is the way to go. Even if you've had smartphones before, you'll be happy with a 3GS. If you're into the latest technology and all, this phone might not be for you... There are a few flaws. The camera isn't crystal clear, the sound is decent but not as good as today's smartphones, it's not as fast... But in the end, this is still a great phone. You can always update the software so even though the phone is a little out of date, it has the latest software. Overall, I'd give it a 4/5. I'm big into Apple products, and the 3GS is a good phone. Not great, but definitely gets the job done. If you could afford a 4S, I would go with that, honestly. But you won't be dissappointed with the iPhone 3GS!Read full review...

Nokia N95 8GB Cellular Phone

I bought one of these phones two years ago when they first came out and I paid around $800.00 for it and after owning it for awhile I found that it was worth every penny I paid for it. My wife wanted a new cell phone recently and I found the price had come down on the N95 to only $350.00 or so new and I was able to purchase a fairly nice used one for her for only $150.00 on ebay. I will tell you that I don't even know how to use all of the features on this phone yet after two years of owning it but it is the best phone I have ever had. I bought it mainly for the camera. It has a 5 megapixel camera with a zoom function and a Carl Ziess Lens. It takes wonderful pictures and it is always there when I come across that Kodak moment. In comparison to the lousy pictures my previous camera phones would take the N95 is off the charts. Next to the camera I like the audio quality the best. The audio is super clear and is also one of my favorite features of the N95. I have had cell phones since 1993 when the first Motorola flip phone hit the street. Most of the audio on my previous phones had something to be desired as in "I can hardly you." The reception of signal on the N95 is also off the charts. It has reception when all other cell phones fail. No walking around going "can you hear me now?" with this cell phone. I have my N95 connected to the AT&T network (more bars in more places) and I have fun watching my friends trying to make phone calls on their cell phones and when they can't get a signal then I hand then mine and they can't believe the reception and clarity on the N95. The phone has a lot of functions that I never use like the GPS and also the music capability it has. It boasts 8GB of memory so you can keep a lot of tunes in it. I understand it has an FM transmitter so you can go to your friends house and play your tunes through their stereo or you can play them through your car radio. I wouldn't know because I never tried it. It also has an FM radio which I have tried but I don't really use that feature much either. The screen is very large and clear and easy to read. I just love how easy this phone is to use. The only problem I have ever had with my N95 is that because it is a computer it can lock up on you. I have had this happen maybe three or four times in two years so this is not an issue that bothers me a whole lot. I kind of freaked out the first time it happened (I thought the phone was broken) but I opened the battery compartment and removed and reinstalled the battery and then it was business as usual. Again my first one of these phones cost me around $800.00 and now that they have come down in price they are really a bargain. You will not be disappointed. The only other thing I might add is that when you are shopping for one of these you will come across the ones that are made in China and I will tell you that these have no internet and no GPS. I don't know anything about the quality of them compared to the ones made in Finland etc. Obviously if you don't need the internet and GPS function you can save yourself some money. The battery life is also fantastic on this phone as in 9 days without charging on standby. I love it on a trip because I just let it run night and day and I don't have to charge it in the motel at night. I have kept my N95 mint in a leather case since day one. I have seen some of the used ones for sale with scratches on the screen and even the lettering worn off the battery cover.Read full review...

excellent phone Id buy another one.

Good value the 3gs I bough for 66 dollars was in mint condition. I vbought this as my first Iphone realized after that Iphone did not support apps for this phone but used red snow and a few other things to completely remove the OS and reinstalled the newest os so Apps would be supported. it worked for me but I dont reccomend that unless you know what you are doing. its easy if you have mid level or above computer skills. I am really enjoying this Iphone and will likely not buy any of the newer models as this now works just fine for me. You can find details on how to do all of it online but follow those instructions very carefully.Read full review...

Almost perfect

I love using this!!! It's a great companion phone to my 7 plus. The design is great and it has some really amazing features. It's in generally good condition, I will admit I expected the screen to be less scratched, but it's still good. Seller shipped promptly, and I got it within 7 days.Read full review...
