Runs apps music and web!! Can't beat it!

Well I first started looking at 8gb and realized that 16gb was about 10$ more on average so go with the bigger size. But what I really love about this touch is that even aging it still runs my favorite games with no lag. Sure some of the new stuff will only work with the 4.0 OS but it'll take them a while to adapt everything to it. I mean for 90$ you get games music great screen I love the thing and now cases and screen protectors are a 1$! I'd have to say that my biggest dislike is that I have to use Apples format and program. I find it very hard to find thing the 3.1.3 update took me forever to find on thier site I had to use google. Last I chose this Ipod because I work on the touches replacing batteries and this generation has a better battery and its so much easier and cheaper to replace. We charge 10-15$ more for other generation ipods because we have to dissasmeble the whole touch. 1st gen is snap off the back solder old one off and new one in.Read full review...

Apple iPod Touch 1st Generation (16GB)

This is a great Ipod as far as design. The battery life is good for being used. Design is very nice for a generation 1 it still looks very modern and nice. The seller had taken very good care of the particular one we purchased. The features are not as good as newer generations. Ipod has WIFI and lots of space for songs. However, if it hasn't been updated to a newer version of software you cannot use it for playing any games. The updated software version is no longer available for this generation to my knowledge. Have contacted Itunes and Apple to try to purchase the updated software. If you want an Ipod that is capapble of holding lots of tunes and WIFI this is the Ipod for you. If you want to play games on this IPod be sure to check with the seller to see if the Ipod is capable of downloading and playing games. Ipod is good for the money paid.Read full review...

Will not play apps for games unless it has an iSo 4 or higher.

The ipod 1st Gen compared to the 3rd Gen is not as good because of the operating system. I understand it was the very first one but they last a long long time with care, so why cant Apple still support them? They need to be upgraded to an iso4 or 5 so it can have game apps etc. I purchased this for my grandson not knowing it wouldnt play apps(games)I wouldnt recommend this generation ipod for games. There is a site called http://www.whited00r.com/ that had upgrades for free but errors out all the time. You Tube has how to do... but you have to know what your doing and be some what tech savvy. Excellent basic MP3 player with video capabilities.

Even though it is somewhat out-dated, this player will still provide the basic functions of its newer counterparts.
Some newer apps won't run since the iOS can only be updated to a certain point.r>
I bought the unit to use in my car, which works perfectly. This means, however, that it is always connected to power. Thus, I can't say how good the battery life is after it has been used for a few years.
Everything else seems to have held up perfectly, though, and I expect it to last a long time still.Read full review...

Great Product,!

I love my ipod touch! it works great! I use my ipod touch everyday at the gym. This product is perfect for me to listen to music, but also I am able to purchase music, movies, videos and so much more on the ipod touch. It jsut looks cooler than a normal ipod and is alot more fun to have. I decided to get the ipod touch 1st generation, because I felt this product would be very reliable, and I dont need any skype application that is on the newer ipod touch. This product is for someone who loves to listen to music and likes easy access to the internet and just wants a cool looking piece of technology. I would recommend this product to anyone, I actually told some of my friends about my ipod touch and they went off and order one on ebay too!Read full review...

I pod touch, great buy!

The I pod touch 1st generation 16 gb is a great buy! It offers many of the same features as more recent generations of ipods. It is sleek, slim and stylish. I really enjoy the touch screen and the different applications that if offers. I do not own a smart phone so in some cases the ipod touch makes up for that. I am able to access the internet and more. I would prefer to have a 32 gb but the 16 fits my favorite music and then some.Read full review...

First generation - Not the best.

I didn't realize first generation had no external speakers. I doesn't do much good to set a timer because no alarm goes off when it's done. I can use the stopwatch to check and see how much I've missed my target by. :)

The batter goes away pretty fast. That's probably because this was made a long time ago, and the battery has already aged.Read full review...

Works for what I needed after a cpl upgrades

I was looking for an Ipod touch that I could d/l a few songs and apps to leave docked on my new juke box. I know NOTHING about the generation stuff or 8gb, 16gb, 32gb. This Ipod said it held 1700 songs so I thought it would be just what I needed. Found out after I got it that it was a 2.2 IOS (whatever that means) and I could not load many apps that I was used to having on my Iphone - like Pandora radio that required 3.0 IOS. I was so bummed. I went to the on line Apple store to see if I could upgrade the ipod but of course I could not get the info I needed for FREE since it was an older model, so GOOGLE to the rescue ; ) I little search and I was able to find the link to update the ipod for $4.45 and get most of my apps synced so I am a happy rocker now.Read full review...

Ipod Touch 1st Gen 16GB

Great device and works well even for an old model. Thre are no problems and as long s one takes care of the device it can last for a long time. It is totally worth it even though it does not have the features of the future models. The Ipod Touch 1st Gen. is a very valuable product that will be remembered even when it finally dies on me. For now I will enjoy it to its full potential. Sure like the other models it has its flaws and perhaps even more flaws, but it is the function and concept that matter.Read full review...

Really good product. I would recommend it!

I really like it. It keeps a charge really well; however, I think that the internet can be very tricky and temperamental so I've had some trouble with that. I also noticed that it is somewhat more difficult than I expected to access facebook and twitter. But other than those few internet issues I have been really happy with the quality of the music and product itself. If you're in the market for an iPod I would definitely recommend the iPod touch 1st gen.Read full review...
