This keyboard is perfect for the iPad, makes it very similar to a laptop. Definitely not a MacBook but if you prefer iPads over laptops this is perfect. Worth of the money?

Apple Magic Keyboard for ipad pro 12.9 4th generation allows much better use of ipad pro. I found it better than any similar item available in the market. A major drawback though lack of support for taking notes or writing with stylus. For this much money, that major feature should be there. Read full review

Pluses and minus

It is heavier than the first generation. I liked the lighter version. Basically almost the same size. The keys are flat and a bit harder to position fingers than older model. But I love the lighted keyboard which makes up for the earlier two negatives.Read full review

I bought this magic keyboard for my iPad Pro 12.9in. Said it was a personally used accessory, but when I got it, it looked like it was practically from the store. Very very satisfied!

Depends on the iPad use you have in mind

If an iPad is used like a laptop with a lot of typing then this keyboard is a must have.
I had Apple's Smart Keyboard folio, which was ok for typing for a while but the difference with this keyboard is really huge. I am not talking about the built in trackpad which transforms the iPad's functionality. The keyboard feeling is really great. You'll make fewer mistakes while typing and you'll never get tired of it. The extra usb-c port which may work as a charging port is great too as it frees the main port of the iPad for extra connections.
The downside: Apart from expensive, it's heavy and with the iPad attached to it it's like holding a laptop in your hands. The second downside is that you may not flip it entirely. So if you want to use the iPad as a book to read then you have to detach it from the keyboard completely.Read full review

The high quality you'd expect from an Apple accessory.

Much sturdier than I expected. Third parties cannot match Apple's standard for hardware.
Trackpad is smoother and more responsive than PC trackpads and is what one should expect from a MacBook or standalone Magic Trackpad 2.

The magnets keep it firmly in place and while it may appear heavy, the weight is necessary to keep it firmly planted.

Doesn't provide the protection that a proper case is designed to.
If the iPad is meant to stay on a desk or around the house, this is a great addition and wroth the price.
In other words, I would not recommend for a device that needs protection and is on the road all day.
