Not worth the price

Bought this as an alternative to a cell phone, since I knew of apps that would work for a phone/texting for free. Not so fast. The item REFUSES to connect to even PUBLIC unlocked WiFi networks, such as Applebee's WiFi.

The battery life is AWFUL. I'm finding myself charging every other day, if not every day. I may use it a total of 5 minutes every day to check the built-in Weather app and still the battery drains REALLY fast. Also, unlike a cell phone, the battery is NOT consumer-friendly. If the battery ever becomes unable to hold a charge, you would need to send it to Apple or take it to a Genius Bar to have the battery replaced, something I'm guessing would NOT be free.

It's also VERY restrictive as far as the apps selection goes. It's fine if you want to stay within the realm of Apple and their App store, but if you want an app designed by a third-party developer, you better hope they submitted it to the App store or you feel comfortable about voiding the warranty and jailbreaking it.

Overall, it's good for children and teenagers if you want to control their mobile device usage but still allow them to play games, but if you're looking for a music player and nothing more, I'd suggest either the iPod Shuffle or the iPod nano.Read full review...

Great for what I need.

The 4th gen with a 30-point charger works just as good as new. Because it's 9 years old, it does show some wear and tear, but I didn't buy it to look pretty. I bought it to play the music I upload and it does just that. The battery life isn't 100%, but I can still listen to songs for several days without needing to charge it.

If all you're looking for is a dedicated music player and don't want to spend a lot of money, this iPod 4th gen is perfect for that. Read full review...

Works as new.
In good condition with slight wear from previous owner.
Too soon to rate battery life.
Even new batteries can have a short recharge capacity...

it's used& old, what do you expect?

I only got it so I could set the clock on my docking station. it's cool. it's a iHome one that rotates between portrait & landscape. originally got the dock when 4&th generation was new, but it was stolen? I always liked the dock,so I got this iPod touch mainly to be able to set the clock. the only way to set the clock is to sync it with that device. to me, it was worth $40 to set the clock.Read full review...

Great iPod.i love it! not so good charger.

My iPod is incredible,although its alittle hesitant at times it's usually good with speed.
I bought the iPod simply because I wanted one,and I just got lucky in the betting.As a matter a fact,I'm using my iPod to write the review :) the one thing I dislike is that the charger doesn't work.I have tried plugging into two different computers,two different outlet pieces and it always says "charging is not possible with this accessory" or something like that.So then I thought that it was the outlet pieces I was using but it wasn't because I tried my brothers charger and it works great with anything I plug it into.that is the one down side to my purchase,I just need to buy another charger I guess.Read full review...

The Ipod touch 4g is very good, but with more free apps it could be great

You can do just about anything with an Ipod touch 4g. It has an app for EVERYTHING. The downfall in that, is the fact that mostly everything costs, and the few things that don't aren't usually the full version. I still love to use my Ipod for things like netflix, facebook, and e-mail. It also has a camera in both sides of it, both very good quality for pictures, videos, of video chats.Read full review...

This is the most perfect device anyone can have.

I love this device. Ever since the day I took it out of the casing and plugged it up to my computer and named this device mines it has never left my side. I take everywhere with me I can even use it as a phone for texting, chatting with facebook friends, calling anyone via wi-fi connection, take and send pictures through it. Also I can take videos and post them up right to youtube through this Ipod touch 4th generation. The only fall back is the design of it. I wish it had a better grip and not be so thin. If ever it was to fall flat on the face the screen and who knows what else would be damaged pretty bad. when i hold it seems like its so delicate and light. its speed is a lot faster then the older models and I think faster then the Iphone 3gs models also. The quality is super and the sound quality and features are everything I was looking for in an Ipod touch 4g. hope this helps anyone who is deciding weather to get one or not. I would totally recommend this to anyone who is constantly on the go or someone who just loves to play games or social with friends online. Overall this product is an exceptional, awesome, can't live without product

I actually bought this product (from ebay with a six month apple warranty left on it) to save money and to keep in touch with the people that I care about the most. I don't have to spend money on a cell phone. I love it because It has face time, free phone minutes (due to promos and game downloads) and free texting. Oh! And the minutes do not expire! There are apps for just about anything, music, email, games, weather, radio stations, etc. I can't believe the picture and video capabilities and the quality of them is exceptional. However, there is just one drawback for me. With the built in wi-fi, you only get service when your around wi-fi. So if your driving you can't access your email, or call anyone etc.
The battery life is average, considering the usage. I'm on it most of the time, checking emails, using the phone, or taking pictures. You can utilize the life of the battery when in use by closing the apps your not using at the time.Read full review...

It’s not new, it’s not the latest model and it’s not a phone. So in my book it’s the PERFECT gift for the kiddos!

Items are in excellent used condition, overall excellent value for the devices. No complaints. The case we received with one of the bundles was a little snug and almost didn’t fit, but we got it on after a little elbow grease. Other than that, we’re happy and so are the kiddos!Read full review...
