Semi wireless camera.

This is a fine camera for my application. I'm into technology so setup was a breeze but when a friend got hers she had no problem setting it up without help. As a security camera it's fine, for anything else, not so much. The camera can be triggered by motion or audio. I found the motion detection to be pretty short range and it takes a few seconds for the recording to start. Often subjects magically appear just a few feet from the camera. There's a 2 minute limit on how long the recording goes. I don't use the audio.

Pros:
- Easy setup.
- Good 1080P picture
- Live view
- Free basic on-line recording service
- On-line setup and viewing is very easy.
- Good night vision with the built-in LEDs.

Cons:
- 4-5 second delay between action and view. This is with 30Mb FIOS internet.
- No Local camera monitoring. Your internet goes down, you get no recording or picture. No way to monitor camera locally from your own PC.
- Short range motion detection even at max sensitivity.
- Slow FPS recording.
- Wireless refers to the video signal. You still have to have a power source close by.

A worth it cloud camera

The camera itself is quite small and light weight, the setup is dead simple: just plug it into a power outlet and you follow the app (on your smartphone) instructions.
The live view quality is sharp, although there's 2-4 seconds delay from the actual event itself.

I have one set up looking at the road approximately 40 feet from the road where I could get tag numbers of people coming down my dead end road. I cannot clearly see there tags otherwise i would give a higher rating. If you need to see things like tag numbrrs or other details? You might need to get a better camera. Great Image, Easy to Use, Until they fail in around 2 years. Then all you see is a washed out pink image.

The image quality and ease of use of this camera is great. However, you have about 2 years of use before the infrared filter begins to stick on in the daytime. It then produces a boldly pink colored image that is low in detail. I've had two of these cameras and one Arlo Pro 2 fail since I bought the system. They can be sent in for repair, however with shipping and repair costs it's not worth repairing them. This leaves you wondering if you should by more new ones. My answer is no. Get the cheapest one on the market that is named what you might call a smart person, but the name is spelled oddly. I've had no trouble with that $25 camera at all and it produces a better image.Read full review...

Arlo Q 1080 HD wireless security camera.

I bought this as an add on to my other Arlo. I put it at my lake house so I could check in to make sure all was okay... can check on my dog, and my husband when I am not there. We are older and if anything was to happen, I would be able to see. For instance, if he were to fall. It is a great addition.

It says wireless, but it comes with a cord to plug in, and that is what I did.

I really like these Arlo Q cameras. The camera itself works great, and since it is plugged in, you never have to worry about batteries.
