Riotously funny and zany comedy!

*Note: Beware of the BUDDHA VIDEO Co. Taiwanese import! Annoyingly the only criticism of my DVD version is that the movie plays immediately and I am unable to remove the Taiwanese subtitles as there is no menu option feature*. Otherwise this Classic Film adaptation of the smash 1941 Broadway comedy, masterfully directed by Frank Capra in 1944 and starring Cary Grant,Priscilla Lane,Raymond Massey,Peter Lorre,Josephine Hull and Jean Adair who play the two zany aunts. Hilarious 'Black Comedy' adaptation of Joseph Kesselring's hit play(scripted by the Epstein bros.)about two seemingly harmless old ladies who poison lonely gentleman callers. Frantic cast is excellent, especially Lorre and Massey as unsuspecting murderers holed up in Brooklyn household. Capra used only one interior set and an exterior set of the house next to an old cemetery. Hull and Adair repeat their Broadway roles. This riotously funny and zany comedy remains a classic to this day.Read full review...
