Kids love it and enough action to keep parents glued!

From the get-go the movie drops you right into a worldly adventurous state as the narrator speaks of Africa, rubies, and exploration. Then we are introduced to the main character, Arthur and his grandmother. We get a little background to set up what we already know will be a great adventure, and we get a little character development.

Completely satisfying original story. Well acted, (& animated). Very funny fight scene, (don't worry, not violent), where the fight seems to be choreographed to a few genres of music, (my favorite was disco).

Very imaginative situations such as when a flower was turned into a bed, the handy pocket tool with fifty different functions, the use of straws to regulate water, even how the Minimoy King was made to appear large and wise.
Also of note was how one's perspective is changed when viewing the world as a minimoy, (about the size of an ant). Grass is like a huge jungle, millipedes are giants and mosquitoes are like horses that can be ridden.

Arthur needs to achieve a lot to save his grandparents farm and with every step forward, two more tasks present themselves. There is a lot of action, (action, not necessarily fighting), that keeps the movie engaging for both the kids and adults.

THE BOTTOM LINE
Great adventure mythical family heroic movie well suited for children and adults. Can not go wrong with this title. Excellent replay value. Totally entertaining. Like nothing else you've ever seen.
It is a must own in our house, (kids are 6, 4 & 2).
For adults, rent or borrow first, great story and visuals so I think you'll like it.
For adults with kids, don't bother to rent, just buy it! You'll love it and your children will love it.

A MUST SEE FOR ALL

This is a great movie with alot of heart ! Being threatened to have there farm taken from them and the property destroyed a boy sets out on a quest to find the treasure given to his grandfather buried somewhere on the farm , in the process the boy is helped by the guardians and shrink him down to the size of an ant where he finds another culture of people defending the landhe tries to convince them of what is going to happen and to help him find the treasure that was given to his grandfather ! Fun,and entertaining family film!

I am rating this 4/5-good.

It was a great film to sit and watch with the kids.
The film starts as a live action,but then magically transforms to an animated riot(of sorts).

This dvd is the modern day Honey...I shrunk the kids!

DVD includes some extra features like: the match-up game,and music video's.

You get many voice actors such as: David Bowie,Madonna,Robert De Niro,Snoop-Dogg and more!!!

This will be a classic for kids someday!

This movie is one of those that not every kid will have seen but when they do it will become a favorite forever. I have watched it so many times already with my 6 and 4 year old and it never gets old. The story line is so sweet and really is about taking care of creatures big and small in this world and loving everyone no matter what their differences may be. Kids wont get that right away, but I do love the simple story line mixing fantasy with real world events. It is unusual I think to have a little boy playing such a sweet role in a movie about fairies essentially rather than a girl. My 4 year old son is the one who requests to view this the most and I think it is because the lead is a boy but still a hero to some degree.The other two additions to this movie are just as great. I know sometimes part 2 and 3 and so on are over done and not as good, but they really did a fabulous job with this one and each one is just as great as the one before. I find myself walking lightly in our garden sometimes thinking.....what if!!!!! You can't go wrong with this movie if you ask me, it has real life, fantasy, make believe and a heart warming story to boot. Absolutely Darling

This is a very creative movie. It is original which makes it interesting. You can watch it a few times and will pick up more each time you watch it. It combines live action with animation brilliantly. Arthur must find a hidden treasure to save his grandmothers home. In doing so, he enters the realm of the invisibles--little underground creatures. It gives you perspective of your own backyard the way that Honey I Shrunk the Kids did.The invisibles are darling little characters who could have their own movie/show one day. The movie has familiar voices like Madonna and David Bowie. The dvd has special features like Jewel performing a music video and Elijah doing a musical video too.There's also a fun match-up game you can play. The dvd is worth buying.Read full review...

great wholesome family action/adventure your gonna love

actually got the PC game for my young children, noticed it was based on a movie, happened to bump into it in kids section at rental store, rented it and never heard the end of it when I had to return it! My kids (and I, I'll admit it) are in LOVE with this movie! Great voice overs by well known actors and musicians (Madonna, David Bowie, Robert Deniro, Snoop Dog, Jason Bateman, Emilio Estavez, Harvey Keitel and more) Fantastic animation and a nice balance of life characters and cartoon characters to keep us all entertained! Appropriate story line for children of all ages... wonderful adventure that I can honestly say my kids (ages 3 & 4) keep asking to watch over & over & over! Fast Shipping & Great Condition! Plays Great!

My kids wanted this DVD and this was the best price I could find anywhere! The DVD was in great condition and probably was buffed to look so good. It played great with no issues at all. The only issue if you would even consider this an issue was that the artwork said "Blockbuster Exclusive" in blue and yellow on the artwork. I don't remeber seeing this desciption anywhere on the listing and if this DVD would have been for my collection it might have been a problem but it was for my kids and it'll probably end up destroyed in a few months anyway. Arthur and the Invisibles DVD

I rented this movie a few weeks ago and I found I just loved it. A definite fun family night movie. Perfect for the young at heart. Freddie Highmore is the perfect Arthur. Definitely a young star to keep your eye on. Arthur and the Invisibles makes you long for your childhood. You find yourself cheering for the little guy (okay pun intended).
