Visualizing Lovecraft's "mountains"

I got this book because I was drawn to doing my own film version of the story now that Guillermo del Toro has moved on. He was to direct the picture with James Cameron producing for Universl pictures, but they cancelled it over a discussion where del Toro wanted to do it in a hard R rating and U wanted it to be PG-13. Also del Toro said that Ridley Scott"s Prometheus ruined the ending of the story and that's what led him to abandon the project. I was curious then about the story and began to read up on it. This book aided me in visualizing Lovecraft's story as I found his writing boring and preponderous; nevertheless it's a good read and clarifies many of the aspects of the tale. You could draw a comparison with this being like the Old Classic Ilustrated comics adaptions of classical literature so I found it rewarding in that area. I recommend it to individuals like myself who are not Lovercraft devotees as purists may enjoy his writing to creating their own images.Read full review...
