Meh Quality. Low Sound Ouput.

I was pretty excited to get one of these and try with my various devices - video, phone, computer. Most important is with my video camera. The sound output is quite low and so noise is amplified a lot when you try to bring the gain up, or if auto level then noise cuts on/off very noticeably with voice.

Quite disappointing really. My ear buds with my smart phone produce just as good sound.

Maybe the battery supplied is almost dead - so I'll try another but if I don't update this then that wasn't the reason for low noisy sound output.Read full review...

Too manny issues!!!

Ok lets start with the fact it has a 12-25 foot cable!... Who needs that? the mic has an on off switch which is often forgotten so you either don't record sound or you leave the power on and kill the battery that day.
As for the battery life its self is short lived as it uses one 375 button cell that retails about $3.. for how short it lasts and how expensive it is definitely not worth it. The audio quality isn't bad, it does well canceling out ambient noise but what it does record is not that great. I would look into a diff brand mic if any of this bothers you.Read full review...

Great Price - Good Mic

This Lav mic sounds great! You do have to be careful that clothing and/or other items do not rub against it. As you might expect, that makes a terrible racket.
I really like the long cord (about 20 feet). It allows for relative freedom if movement. 20 feet is more than adequate for most situations.
The preamp unit is quite compact, and has enough lead to the mic to allow flexible mounting options.
Make sure you order spare batteries for this unit. There is no LED to let you know it is on. It is very easy to leave it on and drain the battery. This will happen at the worst possible time. Best to have a few spare batteries on hand so when it does happen, you are ready.

Overall, I am quite impressed with this mic. I did have to do a "hack" to the on-off switch. It was horribly noisy when I got it, but a few minutes of TLC took care of that. I do not believe this issue is common to these mic's. I just happened to get that one in a million that had to be fixed. No big deal really.

Would I recommend this mic? Yes. I know I am going to get a lot of good use from this mic. For the price, you simply can't go wrong. True, it does not sound like a 300 dollar mic; but then it is not a 300 dollar mic.Read full review...

Won’t work with 2017+ MacBooks without additional adapter.

The included dongle may work with some smartphones, but it will not work with at least 2017 and newer MacBooks (as I found out). You must buy an additional adapter to use the mic with the MacBook’s USB port. (There is a workaround video you can find online however.)Read full review...
