A brilliant starter flute, especially at 440 pitch.

A brilliant starter flute, especially at 440 pitch. Tuning is generally good and it has a reasonable high F. Of course it doesn't have the warmth and rosiness of a true boxwood instrument, but its tone is quite acceptable for plastic. As a teacher, it's a terrifically good instrument that I feel very good about lending for a short period of time to students in getting them started on baroque playing. Read full review...

Great product

I truly love this instrument if there is anything that can improve would be to reduce the noise made by the key. Love it.

A good looking plastic traverso that plays well

This flute is the Aulos AF-2, not the AF-1. It has the matte finish and comes in a hard case instead of a soft pouch. It plays very well and slightly better than the AF-1, probably because the embouchure is a modular insert in the head joint, with more complex undercutting. Too bad the AF-2 is discontinued. Quite an accomplishment, to make a plastic (resin) flute that plays this well.Read full review...

Well-made, affordable baroque-style flute.

I've always liked Aulos recorders, and I like this Baroque-style flute also. Very well-made, fun to play, easier to blow than an orchestral flute (I have weak lungs). Recommended for anyone who enjoys playing flute and related instruments.Read full review...

a fine baroque flute to practice on!

This flute is very easy to finger and play (for experienced flute players).

Note: This is actually modeled after GRENSER and not GLENZER. August Grenser and Heinrich Grenser were flute makers in late 18th-century Dresden, Germany.

There is no "Glenzer" as a flute maker.

Read full review...
