It's Better Than Nothing

Doing an LS swap into a 1980 Camaro, the last thing I expected to be hard to find was a dipstick and dipstick tube for the 4 speed automatic transmission - but it was. The best I could do was this TCI unit. Here's the problem - the tube isn't bent right, so it goes into the 4L70E transmission at the wrong angle (see photos). Also, requiring a second bracket to attach to an LS engine is kludgy. TCI or someone else needs to make a dipstick tube that closely follows the shape of the 4L60E bellhousing and that bolts directly to an LS engine. This is a common swap and therefore there's plenty of demand for it.Read full review...
