Hayden Rapid Cool Plate and Fin Transmission Cooler

Quality cooler, but the installation kit does not include the metal tube necessary to connect to the existing transmission lines to connect the included hose with the vehicle's transmission lines. In the past, a metal connection tube or coupler was included in the installation kit (this used to be included in the accessories package along with the hose and the hose clamps). I hit a cow with my previous installation. The radiator was pushed in against the engine from the impact. The 679 cooler was sandwiched between the condenser and the radiator. The condenser and radiator leaked. The 679 cooler was bent in the middle maybe 10 degrees, but it did not leak.

A word of caution here - when you use hose clamps on a cooler installed this way, be sure the tag ends of the hose clamps do not contact either the condenser or the radiator. That could cause a leak if the tag end of a hose clamp touches either the radiator or the condenser.

Heavy duty cooler

I purchased this cooler to go on my 1970 Chevy C20 Longhorn with a replacement 200r4 transmission. It is a heavy truck so I decided on this heavy duty cooler. It is high quality, much heavier than some others I've used and does an excellent job. I was doing the trans swap so I didn't use the plumbing stuff, but it should be easy enough to place in an existing working trans system.Read full review...

Impressed with Hayden Quality

It's very good quality. Even the fins are tough so they won't bend easy when your working with it. The cooler is lighter and thinner than it seems in the description, so it is easy to find a spot for it to be attached. I used the plastic mounting ties that came with it and attached it in front of the AC condenser. So far it is lowering my transmission temperature from about 20 to 25 degrees F. No other vitals like coolant temperature, or engine oil temperature have gone up after installing it. The AC still blows cold. I am happy with it so far.Read full review...

Return customer

I have purchased several Hayden products in the past. Never disappointed. Short adapter fitting that comes with it screws right in to an FE Ford C6, but it only includes one, of course you will always need two? Purchased another of the same fitting at O'Reilly's. Mounts securely with zip straps and foam pads. Did not use hose clamps or small piece of included hose in my situation.Read full review...

Overperformance?

This cooler has done exactly what it's supposed to do and has out performed my expectations by far I actually got concerned after a road trip I took that involved alot of incline roadways because my temp was reading near start up temperatures and I was sure I had a leak somewhere but it turned out that the cooler was for lack of better words over performing I recommend this for any customer that has the space and know how to installRead full review...

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

Easily installed on my 08 silverado 1500 and dropped trans temps 30+ degrees. I didn’t have to modify anything, just disconnected and removed factory cooler and placed 2, 3” sections of the supplied 5’ (plenty of hose) in between the factory lines and barbs on the new cooler. Similar coolers cost at least twice as much. I was looking at the trucool but it was really wide and inexpensive.Read full review...

Great upgrade if you don't have an aux trans cooler

So far it's been 2 weeks. I installed one on My 07 suburban. Of course it came with the cooler lined thru the radiator. Wasn't uncommon to see 200+ temps on avg. Driving. At hwy speeds temps would easily reach 190 and keep climbing. Now after I isolated it to externally cool and bypass radiator my avg temps are 150. Highest I've seen is 155. I live in VA where it's humid AF nor.al summer temps are high 90s. This is a great upgrade. Save your money over the competitors. Would recommend 10xs.Read full review...

Great product. Easy to install.

Was consistently seeing temps north of 200f while driving inclines in my 3rd gen 4runner. Now rarely goes over 170f. Very easy to install.

Nice kit

I found this to be a quality kit. The hose provided was a generous length, the clamps were the good SS ones and the core is sturdy and well made. This is their big cooler which I would get regardless of application.Read full review...

2011 Chrysler Town and Country.

Installed very easy. Hot desert was taking a toll on the little transmission. This should keep it cool. Fit perfectly.
