Get Avril lavigne Under Your Skin!

From the title alone, many were left guessing exactly what this album would contain. And the fact that one of the least rockiest tracks, “Don’t Tell Me” was released first left many believing this would be a near clone of her debut record in it’s style. But infact, this album couldn’t be any more different than “Let Go”. Avril very nearly turns “emo” in her rockiest album to date. To this very day, “Take Me Away”, although unreleased, remains as my favourite and most beloved track. The loud guitars, Avril’s screams, the bashing drums: it was very obvious that Avril’s cliched teenage hysterics had just been immortalised for eternity. If I had to describe this album in one word, all I would have to say is “amazing”. The very first time I put the CD into my stereo, I found myself worrying for Avril’s inner mentality. “Together” is simply brilliant. To help you get the gist of it, here are the opening lines, which are sung by a highly emotional young woman: “Something just isn't right. I can feel it inside. The truth isn't far behind me: I'm living a lie”. She continues with this pessimism through “Slipped Away”, written for her deceased grandfather, along with “Forgotten”, and “My Happy Ending”. Ms. Lavigne only manages to punch out a couple of up beat tracks, in the form of “He wasn’t” and “Who Knows“, the former easily being the better of the two. It is now clear that this is the road Avril would take in years to come. Still, while we all now know that there was infact happiness on the horizon, none could have guessed. In “Under My Skin”, Avril Lavigne created the single most hard-hitting, emotional record of 2004. If you haven’t already, I suggest that the moment you finish reading this, you get your hands on a copy of it as fast as possible. This album deserves no less than five stars.Read full review...

Fabulous

Brilliant lyrics, straight from the heart on some tracks. The music is fabulous with catchy rythnm. Avril Lavigne has a wonderful singing voice. Highly recommended.
