Bachman D CC controller

This controller is definitely not for the novice.
Lots of nice features many of which you'll use as opposed to a control with many more features. It also works very well with the power boost on a DCC system. Make sure your batteries are fresh though.
The only flaws with this controller is like I have looked at other reviews it is dependent on site of line it's infrared.

The other floor in the controller are that the battery hatches which close the AAA batteries into the unit are not the best built there could be more quality control on the item. Otherwise it's a good value for that price search around the price is very greatly by hundreds of dollars. I have three of these and they do work very well on my large layout.

User giude and handset.

The user guide is the worst I've ever seen, have just spent three hours trying to program a second locomotive. The handset sometimes doesn't turn on, have to operate the on/off switch up to a dozen times, will probably quit soon! The person's native language that wrote the guide certainly wasn't English! I've given up on this crap. das. Read full review...

It appears to be a good system although I have nothing to compare it with.

Purchased a second Bachman Spectrum 36505 Wireless EZ command Dynamis DCC Control System because I needed a new wall plug. Also wanted a second remote to control other trains. Unfortunately, it appears a second control will not work in conjunction with first remote, unless I also purchase the Pro-box. Otherwise, I have enjoyed the system for several years. Some of the programming could stand some updating to facilitate ease of use.Read full review...

Great features, but confusing programming of locomotives

I would have given this product 5 stars if the directions for setting up engines was not so confusing. The directions for programming locomotives on the main track do not work - nothing happens - no change of address to the locomotive. The directions for programming on a service track were the ones that worked, after countless tries on the main track. There are several web postings that I found where other folks have had the same problem.

Otherwise, the product works great and I really enjoy being able to control multiple locomotives on the same track, even going in opposite directions!

Come on Bachmann, get your act together with the instructions! That should be an easy fix!

Easiest way to DCC Wireless. Super fast shipping

This is currently a fantastic price, easiest and least expensive way to get into DCC wireless.

I ordered this and had it the very next day. I am only 35 miles from the vendor but still that is amazing.

The only bummer is you cannot use DC trains when this system powers the track. Several wires controllers will operate both DCC and DC like Bachmann’s wired E-Z Digital Command Station.

A color screen would be better also. The contrast would be much improved since the screen has much information. A red Stop button would be nice, because it can trigger and I don’t notice. But now when the train stops it’s the first thing I look for.

This is very easy to use for beginners and more advanced users will appreciate all of the extra features. I am in the beginner category

The box and unit do not say “Ultimate” anywhere. But the box says you can use up to 4 wireless controllers which is a main feature of the Ultimate.

All in all an outstanding purchase

For a beginner, it is an excellent controller for DCC operations.

This controller may not be the top of the line, but it certainly fulfills my needs for my model railroad. It is easy to install. It does require a good bit of programming of your locomotives, but I have six locomotives programmed and my turn-outs (12 of them) work find. The one drawback I find is that you must be facing the receiver for it to be effective. I located mine at one end of my layout so that I can stand across from it and face it. I am still in the learning stage of finding out what all it can control, but for right now, it is serving me well in running my layout. If you are a beginner, it is just right for getting into the DCC operations. Read full review...

Great, simple to use, wireless troublesome though

For an entry level DCC it's great. Easy to use and very straight forward, everything that is needle is there (no confusing menu levels to navigate when running trains). Ability to write any and all CV's is awesome too bad you can't read them. Now for the bad news - the wireless can/is very flaky - the need to be line of site isn't really that big a deal, it's the loss of communications altogether that can be a problem. After much research I believe that it's the power supply that's the issue, if for any reason you get dirty/fluctuating voltages on the mains it just doesn't like it. (speaking from experience as I'm off grid and do not have consistent power). I think this can be overcome by checking and unplugging devices you have until you find the culprit. So Bachmann ... put a better filtering power supply in the box. At the end of the day it's great for the money - not everyone can afford the high end ones.Read full review...

My first DCC system

This model has taken a bad rap with online reviews. There are a couple of things that frustrate me about it but overall it does work pretty good. Just like a wireless mouse, most problems are tied to a low battery but you don't realize that at the time you need it to work right. They should have made a charging station for the remote instead of regular batteries. You really do need a fully-charged remote everytime you use it.Read full review...

Lightweight with some good features

One can't wander too far away from the main unit. I keep them close and all works fine. Programming is made easy, even for a newbie like me.
