Spencer Tracy gives yet another marvellous performance.

Spencer Tracy is terrific as a disabled WW2 veteran passing through a small western town to deliver a Medal of Valour to the father of a Japanese American soldier who died saving his life.
He encounters a town full of unfriendly secretive people intent on getting rid of the stranger who they mistake as a government agent investigating their “secret”.
A simple story with a strong character study - of good & evil - of courage & cowardice.
Fantastic supporting cast inc Robert Ryan & Walter Brennan.
Wonderful location cinematography.
