Chainsaw

Second chainsaw I have had of this model and I am delighted at how easy it is to start and that it has plenty of cutting power. I would highly recommend this chainsaw.

A good saw that is ruined by poor quality for the infrequent/casual user

A good all-round saw for most jobs. Unfortunately quality as delivered can be hit and miss. Some perform faultlessly, while others quickly become unreliable or unusable due to many faults. Typical faults for mine are :
1. oil control dropped out during use, saw still usable,
2. air filter doesn't seal around carby so inevitably saw dust clogs up carby and requires cleaning. A simple modification has fixed this,
3. chain brake became locked on to shaft and required removal and fixing

When using without the problems the saw is a good performer and requires only rare adjustments to the carby. Good balance and easy to use in tight spaces, but enough power for largish cuts.

This is a fantastic chainsaw

This chainsaw has lots of power, and starts easily. A similar sized chainsaw (in one of the big brands) would have cost me around $800, which i just couldn't justify for the amount I will use it. (I researched at least 3 other big brands for a similar power rating and bar size.)
Make sure you keep your chain oil topped up. The chain will stretch a bit when new so keep an eye on the tension after the first few big cuts. It has an onboard socket tool for being able to easily adjust chain tension. When you are finished using it, its a good idea to remove the side cover and blow out all the wood dust (which has been soaked with chain oil) with compressed air, or a brush. NOTE, the safety clutch handle needs to be disengaged to remove the side cover.
The chainsaw comes in a box with gloves, safety glasses, a small file for sharpening the chain (which is a skill best taught to you by someone who knows how to do it) and a mixing bottle for mixing your 2 stroke fuel.
(I actually purchased a spare chain as well, in case i didnt have time to sharpen the used one.)
I'm really happy with this chainsaw and delivery was free.
This is THE bargain of the century!

Excellent value for money

Whole unboxing I couldn't help but notice that this saw was well designed with inbuilt features that more expensive brands possess. Was easy to assemble with only the bar and chain to install. Surprisingly easy to start given its larger engine capacity. While using the saw it had plenty of power to rip through 20 inch + diameter of Australian hardwood such as ironbark and Blackbutt. The bar oil delivery adjustment was easy and we'll located with all the tools needed came supplied and the inbuilt tool holder is a great idea. The only downside I disliked was the air filter material, perhaps there could be a washable foam upgrade? But overall this chainsaw has the hallmark of quality but for a very affordable price. Well

Baumr AG 62 Saw performance

The saw started up within a couple of pulls from new.
It cut through timber with great power and speed.
The only issue I noticed was the chain adjuster isn't as easy to use as other saws that have a more direct system of adjustment, rather than a side adjuster, it was harder to turn and seemed to grab as it was being turned.
A basic manual would be good rather than having to download one from the internet, it was hard for me to access a manual.
Putting the saw together and operating it wasn't a problem, however there was an unusual looking plastic part that I had no idea where it was supposed to go in the assembly process.
All in all, I'm very pleased with the performance of the saw, it's well balanced and cuts like a dream.
Thanks!

Great value for your money

A neighbour has one that is now 5 years old and gave me the tip, I was able to purchase the saw, 2 spare chains and a 9 tonne electric log splitter for less than the brand name saw I was considering with discounts applied.
Once I had the chain bedded in I found it more than capable on blocks my battery saw wouldn’t be able to cut, even well seasoned iron bark was sliced through with ease, even cut through the grain.
There’s enough info through YouTube to help you with your decision and I give it 2 thumbs up and more than happy with it 👍👍

Does the job at a great price

Easy to assemble ( tip: remember to get the teeth screwed on before mounting the chain bar and make sure the chain is on the right way). Starts relatively easy with about four or five pulls.

Needed to log a couple of fallen eucalyptus trees(30 cm and 35cm trunk) on our property.

Managed to chop the trees into manageable logs only stopping to re fuel. Can't fault the machine. Kept good chain tension for the entire 2 hour job and was easy to start. Chain held its sharpness fine.

For the price, it's a great machine with enough grunt for decent size trees. Would recommend for one off jobs. I was surprised at the quality for $159.

Hard to start

I found the chainsaw easy to assemble with simple instructions but is really hard to start. It takes at least 30 pulls before it goes. Once it starts it runs fine. I’ve used it for 4 hours so far with no issue. Just hard to start!! I’ve had plenty of chainsaws and live on property so it’s not an assembly issue or fuel mixture. I’ll buy a known brand spark plug and hopefully will fix the issue. Read full review...

Quality Saw with just a few little tweaks

Has a gasket between the oil port and bar guide. Air filter works but is the cheat quality filter one (disappointing BUT still a great saw). Runs flawlessly out the box (hums like a Bee). Get a NKG spark plug for in ( NKG Plug is BPMR7A). The spark plug provided works fine as a spare in need. Does leak oil out when stored but you shouldn't leave it filled when stored, just whats in the tank. The best saw over othe chinese brands like BBT, Giants, ROK.Read full review...
