Childhood favorite
One of my favorite films. I had the pleasure of seeing it on the big screen at Radio City Music Hall. Now that it's on DVD it makes watching it just as much fun. The special effects of the bed traveling my not be up to the standards of today's effects but for 1971 it was state of the art. The musical numbers are very catchy and the storyline easy to follow. A Rare Treasure
This is a must-need for any classic musical/ Disney fan. Although you can find this film on HD Blu-ray, this DVD 'musical masterpiece' edition is the only way to see the film in its original production. You see, when this film was originally theatrically released, Disney decided to cut some of the scenes and many of the musical numbers. With this edition, a restoration team has found the clips of Angela Lansbury and David Tomlinson singing and dancing in the missing musical numbers. Some scenes do not have the original voice track, but this is understandable because this material was not taken adequate care of in the 60-70s at Disney.
