Loved it...you will too!

I loved this book! It is about a young girl who does not get much attention from her very odd family. She has a talent for spelling and does well at the school spelling bee. She begins to develop a relationship with her father that was never there before. He mother is going through a personal crisis as is her brother. It is all about family dynamics this is certainly a dysfunctional family. An excellent read...I would love to read another book by Goldberg.Read full review...

A novel about a girl who is a spelling genius

This book is delightful to read for an adult. Struggle for mom and dad and sister and brother in a small town. What appears to be a novel for a young audience has scenes of sexuality sprinkled into it. Therefore, it is not for the very young, who would ask a parent about masturbation and fellatio. The ending is sad, we never find out, if mom comes home from the hospital for the mentally ill.Read full review...
