Great Smartphone

This is a great Blackberry device for the Verizon network. Keyboard is easy to use, after you've gotten used to it - especially if you were a touch screen user. Blackberry App world could be better and easier to use but it still offers some nice applications. The Bold 9650 would have to be one of the more higher end Blackberry devices you can get. Nice speeds and little to none freeze ups. If you're looking for a business email phone this would be a very good choice. Emails are received very quickly - sometimes faster than on my computer. Battery life isn't too bad. I previously had the HTC Incredible and that battery barely lasted a day. My Bold 9650 lasts me well through a day if not through a second day. I would recommend a car charger for those on the go - check out the Motorola charger with the blue logo. I've had my phone for about 6 months now and have had no major problems with it. If you have Verizon and are looking to get a nice functional/professional smartphone that has great email capabilities, you might want to look into the Bold 9650.Read full review...

Great Features, Good Value for money

The Blackberry BOLD 9650
I needed a smartphone that was inexpensive, that could multitask and satisfy my needs for entertainmaint, communication and work on the go. The BOLD 9650 meets this expectation and more. With its BB Messenger, Email, Facebook access, MSN & Yahoo IM clients, intigrated Media Player, 3.2 Mp Camera, Web browser, Calendar,Youtube video streaming, Editiing and creating office docs, Wifi, Bluetooth and 3G data capabilities this device became an essential part of my life; keeping me connected and assisting in my daily activities.

Pros
Bright beautiful display.
Decent 3.2MP Camera
Good word processing capabilities.
Smooth Social Client integration.
Fast reliable 3G data access.
Media player- watch movies on those long bus rides.
Email access is satisfactory!

Cons
Slow dated web browser
Sub-par battery life
Buggy and sluggish OS
Bulky design
New OS6 interface too compolicated for a new user Smartphone user.

Compared to other competing smartphones in terms of features the BOLD 9650 holds its own however in terms of performance and ease of use this RIM Blackberry device falls below the bar. RIm could have doen alot more to improve on our USER experience. However if you are an existing BB owner willing to look pass these small quirks then this is the upgrade for you.

I really like this phone. It gets the job done.

I am a huge Blackberry fan. I have owned this phone more than once and also many other blackberry phones. I currently have an iphone, but I ordered this one because I miss my blackberry! The 9650 is great because it has plenty of memory for apps, can take a large micro SD card for storing other things such as pics and music, and the camera has a flash. Also, this phone can run BB OS6 which is great! Also the battery life is excellent compared to iphone and android phones. Only things I would change about this phone is maybe a little better camera but that is about it. It's nice that it has a physical keyboard too.Read full review...

Good device but don't upgrade software!

When we hear the word Bold on the BlackBerry Market we think: Performance! This is not the case with BlackBerry Bold 9650.

First, this device features BlackBerry Device Software 5.0 and it does well running apps, games, themes and browsing but not as good as the others Bold.

Sometime we can hear that this is the same as 9700 but this is not true, 9650 has only 524Mhz and 9700 has 624Mhz of CPU speed, so the 9700 wins!

The good thing of this phone is the RAM, which is 512MB making it the same as the Torch 9800 or even Bold 9780 but RAM is not all, to keep our phone running pretty well a fast CPU is needed. Anyway, let's move to another apartment.

Device Software 5.0 runs fast, excellent and very responsible. Don't do the error of upgrade to 6.0 or you will experiment one of the slowest BlackBerry devices.

Including some games for entertainment like Sudoku, Solitary, Texas Poker, WordMole and BrickBreaker you can spend hours of fun when you don't have nothing to do.

Other Software included with the phone is the Docs to Go trial and BBM. No preinstalled software like facebook, twitter or myspace is present but you can easily download them via OTA.

Mines comes with an 3.2MPx camera with flash but BE AWARE there are an BOLD 9650 version that comes without Camera.

Features WiFi, GPS and the optical trackpad for better movement trough menu and apps.

Overall I would state this device a 4 of 5 because its CPU makes it slow when upgrading the device software.

Thanks, God bless

Good smartphone. Sufficient and convenient!

The BlackBerry is fantastic. I prefer touch phones, just as a personal preference, but it arrived quickly and in great condition. It works well. The internet is a tad slow (browser) , but it's fine. The new software is really convenient. It's a good phone for those who prefer smart phones, but don't want a touch screen. The battery is decent once you learn how to shut down applications and such. I wouldn't say it was worth the almost $200 I spent on it online, but I was desperate for a phone. I'm still happy with my purchase after having it for a few weeks.Read full review...

Verizon Blackberry 9650

The Verizon Blackebrry 9650 Bold(really a Tour with a new track pad) is a great phone for e-mails,text messages, and regular phone use,but that's pretty much where it ends.I also updated the software by the way to the new 6.0 and was very disappointed, the scrolling through the various screens is just annoying, the internet speed increased a little but not much. Also all the free applications that you get with Droid and Ipone you have to pay like $3.99 and up with Blackbery. What's up with that? They have to start giving free apps.or lower there price to the .99 range to compete.Blackberry needs to get with the times and revamp there operating system, this 6.0 update is a joke and worse than the 5.0 if yoy can imagine.Anyway if your looking for a reliable phone with great email, and ok texting, then this phone is for you,if you want something from 2011 and on then move to the Droid x or Iphone 4.Good Luck!!Read full review...

Bold 9650

This is a replacement for my World Edition 8830 since the trackball dies. This one has a trackpad and may be a bit more durable. It is much the same phone and runs on the old 3G network and is not 4G capable. The form factor is a nice size & good for what Blackberry does best. Since it is difficult to transfer contracts, tasks & other information from a Blackberry to an Android or IOS phone, I'm opting to replace on BB with another as I can close all that & my Password Keeper. Problems with provisioning the phone for data on my network were finally sorted out with the very hard reset of the phone using the MSL method.Read full review...

Great Phone

Overall, is a great phone, easy to use, great camera, has a great style desing, screen is bright and has a good resolution, the downside (for me) is that i took this phone overseas and the 3G band doesn`t work, you can connect to data, BB pin, Blackberry internet service, Facebook, but it will do it at 2G speed (EDGE), still it works!!!. Cool phone.Read full review...

Great product! Recommended!!

I bought this phone because I wanted to have my own experience with a smart phone that I have heard nothing but good things about.
I like how easy the access to the internet and the blackberry messaging.
I do not like that the battery life is short. I can plug it up and it will have 100% charge and take it off over night while I sleep and by morning it will only have 50% charge.
This is overall one of the best phones I have ever had.

Blackberry BOLD 9650 delivers for the everyday user from business & beyond!

I have been a Blackberry user for a couple of years. So when I got word on this one being without a trackball and controlled by your fingertips it was exciting.

The Bold 9650 is the perfect smartphone for business use, which can handle several email carriers with an ease. Downloading apps are with an ease.

The battery life holds pretty good considering the other smartphones on the market. The internet speed for 3G is modest, but it does the job. If you are clueless on what Blackberry phone to get, hands down you should get this one!
