Stable and reliable without the needless bells and whistles

I've used many phones. In the past few years it's been the Galaxy S to iPhone 4s to Galaxy SII to other Blackberry devices and this phone seems to be the best of all worlds. I am not someone that needs much when it comes to phones so take my review with that in mind. I wanted something that is reliable and excellent at email and call quality. Something that had a top notch calendar that was easy to use. Something that had a decent memo pad. Something more customizable than the iPhone 4s that drove me nuts. More stable with less crashes than the Android that kept on failing to work when most needed. The Blackberry 9930 does all of this without the bells and whistles of other phones. No hours and hours watching videos or listening to music for me but I do need to use the internet quickly and without a lagging screen. Simple yet with the ability to "get with it" if I want to go there. You can say that there are more advanced choices out there but the customization of email and messages on the Blackberry 9930 is second to none. The real keyboard along with the touch screen make this a stand out among cell phones. As with most phones, a longer lasting battery would be appreciated but I really can not find much to complain about. An excellent phone with average battery life that is an excellent value if you purchase it used. Way overpriced if purchased through your carrier. If you don't need the complicated features and glitzy screen resolutions of Android and iPhone, the Blackberry 9930 does it well and without fanfare.Read full review...

Little overpriced, but worth it for BB lovers!

greatest blackberry to date! Touch screen comes in handy when dealing with long menus, and zooming in, other then that forgetable. it does tend to get a little backlogged with too many apps open, but still better than previous models. my favorite right in front of the 9800 series! the bb OS 7 isn't a MAJOR step up, but it address alot of annoying issues, such as adding new numbers to old contacts, alerts completely stopping the play of music, and other little things that will make you say hmm this is much easier than before. All in all it's good for us diehards, but RIM has a LOONNGG way to go to stay relevant in this app powered world of phones!Read full review...

A Great High Quality Phone

Wow I just went through the EVO 4G, Iphone 4s, Iphone 4, Nexus S,Motorola Photon, and really had not found the right phone until I went back to Blackberry and the new Bold 9930. I love the way blackberry moves data unlike any other phone. I also love the larger physical keyboard on this phone. I love having a touchscreen and the touchpad as I don't have to mess up the screen with fingerprints unless i choose too!! I wish it had 4g (though I rarely used it). I found apple and andriod apps mostly gimmicks and useless, the BBerry apps work for me and always seems to be quality apps. it is great to be back. RIM please lower the upgrade prices and you would sell a ton of these.Read full review...
