blackberry priv unlocked

great purchase! finally free to switch at any time without contract. the phone's best feature is the control of what the apps have access to so i am not forced to let them access my full contact list or all my pictures or even my camera. the freedom comes with the control of your phone. the screen is great and the screen keyboard is working very well. the downside is that sliding keyboard is not as on the old blackberry phones. Still OK but the balance of the phone is impacted when opened to type on the keyboard. it takes a little bit of getting used to. the phone also get a bit hot but i have not figured out when it is the case yet: when low bandwidth or charging. i don't keep my phone on me all the time so it does not impact me much. overall great phone!Read full review...

The best option for BlackBerry users to adopt an Android OS.

I tried 2 different samsungs, the last being an S8 and found them completely frustrating and bizarre to use. The BlackBerry Priv was my next choice, as it has both the QWERTY keyboard and a touchscreen keyboard superior to either S model I have used. BB quality is fantastic, but I do miss the easy/ intuitive features that BB10 OS had. The PRIV bridges the gap a bit, but is missing some of BB's really smart features. The camera is fantastic.Read full review...

Great phone

Pros: quick, quality built, nice finish, loud front speaker, hear calls well, ok battery life, nice keyboard and gestures, good quality rear camera.
Cons: Gets really hot when watching videos or playing 3D games, hard to see what's on the screen when used outdoors and in the sunlight, bad front camera.
Great value, Recommend.

Best Smartphone

Took me a while to decide on getting the Priv due to its high price but now I've regretted not getting it sooner. I still miss the physical keyboard of the older blackberrys but don't find the virtual keyboard of the Priv lacking. My phone case has restricted access to the slide out keyboard and I haven't the need to use it so can't evalute its phsical keyboard. The Priv is slightly larger than my old phone but that make watching video and reading online more enjoyable. The Priv feels solid in my hands, excellent quality in built, response is fast, pictures are clear and true to color. I can't say enough good thing about it. (Oh, a word about the seller - excellent service, timely delivery, product showed up as it should.)Read full review...

Don't be a follower

This is an amazing phone! Best of BlackBerry with access to Google Play store. BlackBerry Hub is hands down the best organization of messages, emails & calendar items. "Peek" is the most convenient message previewer. & BBM is the most fun instant messenger. Sure, all your friends have iPhone or Galaxy S. But do you want the best phone or the most popular phone? Besides, almost everything you like about iPhone or Galaxy S, BlackBerry invented. Read receipts, message preview, even lock screen. BlackBerry is a ridiculously innovative company. The only thing they aren't good at is self-promotion. Gotta love those Canadians. ;-)Read full review...

Excellent phone!

I love this phone! It has excellent battery life, looks AMAZING and does everything I need.
The amazing BB keyboard always helps too! It's perfect for those super long emails that are just easier and faster to type on a regular keyboard.

I have used it for about 4 months now and have been happy from day 1. It is super slick, smooth and no other phone looks like it on the market. It is classy, business orientated and very efficient. 5 Stars all the way!!!

Moved from Windows and really pleased

I stuck with WP 4-5 years using a lot of different devices, when decided to move to android I instantly took my decision when I saw the Priv. Looks and feel so classy, everyone who sees the phone love it, the camera could be better but is not bad compared with my previous phone (lumina 640). and I cannot believe all the features android have in which windows is in the stone age. I updated to 6.0 with a non AT&T sim downloading the ROM (1.8gb aprox). it fixes the overheating (it goes warm instead of hot), add some features to some apps and after full configuration and for $300 its a no brainerRead full review...

Enjoy The PRIV very much!

Excellent display and processor, expandable memory, good audio, just the right size and weight, Android system works very well on this smart phone. Blue tooth and WiFi work well. Excellent camera with adjustments to exposure using the keyboard. Google Apps for android work properly. Turn off unnecessary apps to save battery. Lighted keyboard is great to have with predictive typing and spelling.Read full review...

Android Blackberry

As a long time Blackberry user, here are some of my observations. Battery life is less than my BB passport. Distressed by the apparent need for apps to "clean" or other "improve" the phone. Does not update to current OS. The hard wired buttons protrude too far out of the phone, causing weird things to happen. They need to be inset more. Inexcusable on a premium phone. Like the additions/availability of more popular apps, especially Face Book. Runs hot at times Am thankful of the cool down app.
Hope BB can improve it, especially the hub.

Battery life is a drawback for such a beauty

I had the BB Z30 until it was stolen. then I decided to upgrade to the PRIV thinking it would perform similar to the Z30. The phone is nice, the Android OS works, but the battery life does not last for more than 6 hours. I have dimmed the screen, remove apps but nothing.

does anyone knows how to make it last longer?

very disappointed.
