Plug and play

The Blue Yeti was practically plug and play for me. I'm a novice just getting into the voiceover community; I did some research and felt this mic was the best bang for my buck. I'm still learning how to use all of it's features, but it has been fantastic so far. It is incredibly sensitive; you can plug your headphones into the port under the mic, and hear absolutely everything. You can still listen to other things on your computer while plugged into the mic; I simply hit the mute button on the mic and I can listen to a voiceover tutorial or music, etc. You can still listen with the mute off if you like, but you obviously end up trying to listen to something on the computer over external noise. The mic isn't exactly light, but it doesn't weigh a ton either; it's heavy enough that it isn't going anywhere, and it won't be easily knocked over. I'll be taking the Yeti with me to a voiceover boot camp in June where I hope to learn some tips to use it even more effectively. I will try to come back and update my post.Read full review...

Studio quality at an affordable price.

This is what I use in my home studio for audio and podcasts. It was the prefect match of style, function and price. I like the usb connection. This mic has three modes and one will fit your need at the time. Very heavy and solid build. This is not a cheap plastic mic.

Overall great product

The product is great overall. Can pickup a penny dropping on a carpet floor. If you dont mind hearing all the sounds of typing you can use it right on the desk top but i would otherwise recommend using a seperate stand or tripod. Alright, so I purchased this mic because I was in desperate need of a better mic. As far as quality goes, it's top notch. It's fairly simple to use and the manual that is provided gave me further insight when I was curious about the four different settings that capture sound. If you're like me and rocking a small desk space to work with, you'll be happy to know that the mic is decent in size.
