Jim Hamm's Bows & Arrows Of The Native Americans, is a must read.
This is a very well written book and would be a great book for any bowyer, It is very well detailed with a lot of pictures to add to the details, it covers types of bows from East to West, and all stages of construction very well. It also covers arrow making and making quivers and bow cases. I would strongly recomend it to anyone who would like to build their own bow, especialy if they want a native American style bow.Read full review...
The first book on making Native American archery equipment
Jim Hamm is widely known in the bowyer community for the four-volume Traditional Bowyers Bible that he edited and publishes. Long before that, though, he wrote this little book, which remains the best single reference for anyone looking to make bows and arrows in the style of the earliest residents of this continent. Just what you need
If you are looking for a simple, concise, and easy-to-read publication to learn to make stone age bows, this book will over and above supply you with the information to do so. Jim Hamm gives you enough information to journey from know-nothing beginner to early advanced stages for bow making. I would recommend this book even for the professional, because it will fill in gaps in techniques that get forgotten over time. An A+ read.Read full review...
