Nice machine!

I really like having the All In One machine in my home office, it is compact and does more than I will probably ever use. It will take the place of my big copier, scanner & fax machines. I would have been happier if it would have come with an instruction book & software rather than having to go on-line and print it out and download software. ...I took a chance and won ; and glad I did...

...I was toll by experts on the subject that I would be taking a chance on a fully printer if it was used...That accounts for price that I bid for it , winning...After receiving it , the printer works great with a printer cord ; but NOT as a wireless printer...That disappointed me...I had hope to share it with others in my household...
...I was warned that printers are disposable and if I wanted a fully functional , with little risk , I should buy new...There are no replaceable parts for the use printer...But I was lucky , the overall cost was to my liking...

Ink problem with printer.

The printer is not working with the ink I bought. The ink I install does not work in the printer. I'm going to order more ink and try it to make sure the reason it is not printing because of the ink or the printer itself. The printer was very easy to setup.Read full review...

Improve your own 'bottom line' by saving money on ink with this printer.

I needed the ability to print wirelessly because my USB ports all went to sleep on my laptop, and since my Brother MFC-240C has been such a fantastic machine for several years, I decided to stay with this design and buy this new MFC-490CW which also allows me to realize great savings on ink purchases while allowing me to print remotely from anywhere in my house wirelessly.

The older Brother MFC-240C which I have is a fantastic machine that has saved me greatly on ink costs because it too uses ink tanks instead of having to replace the print head cartridge which was necessary until I discovered the Brother line of printers.

I highly recommend this MFC-490CW machine because my MFC-240C had never let me down until it was damaged by a soldering iron rolling against it and thereby melting some parts which I had to replace by purchasing a used non-functioning unit.

Both of my Brother all in one printers provide me with perfect printing, copying, scanning and fax transmit as well as receive. I highly recommend these Brother printers to anyone who needs these functions.

When I disassembled the non-functioning unit which I purchased for the parts I needed, I was highly impressed at the engineering design and assembly of these printers.

I have worked in the electronics repair field for most of my life and I have worn out about a dozen other printers before I found the Brother line several years ago.

The Brother MFC-240C all in one is very well constructed inside and is a fine machine. I liked it so well that I just bought this MFC-490CW which has wireless functionality.

I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to print at a lower ink cost.Read full review...

Printer works very well!!!

I wanted a wireless printer for my home network!! Easy to operate and love the 4 cartridge ink system, You only replace the cartridge that runs out and not all 4 at one time!! I think this is a great item and very reasonably priced and was easy to install!!Read full review...
