CALAMITY JANE is a musical featuring catchy songs, many sung by Doris Day as Calamity and Howard Keel as Wild Bill Hickok. He and Lieutenant Danny Gilmartin played by Philip Carey are the romantic interests. It's a beautifully shot western with fantastic sets; and in the end, it's a comedy with a great romance. All of the performances in the film are good.
Don't miss it if you're a fan of either musicals or good natured westerns. My granddaughter is 9 years old and she loves it, that's why I bought it.Read full review...

Love this film! Great score, with some well-crafted songs matched with some timeless choreography. This rootin, tootin wild west drama has it all, gunslingers and romance! Doris Day is great as toyboy Calam and Howard Keel's rich voice brings Wild Bill Hickock to life. I loved this film as a child and it hasn't been on TV for far too long.
