BEST SHOOTER GAME!!!!

Have been playing video games for over 36 years, and have played my fair share of war games on many different consoles, current and classic. But this game BY FAR is the best one I personally have ever played! My nephew requested it as a gift. So I bought it used and of course tried it out to make sure it played right. I think I was 15 minutes into playing, and realized I HAD to get my own copy! The graphics and the story line are AWESOME!! It really gets my heart rate going! I usually sale my games after I beat them But this one is a KEEPER!! Just love it!!!!Read full review...

This is where COD started to slide

I'm not much for multiplayer and the effort that goes into making COD multiplayer is minimal also.
Like all of their campaigns, their storyline is very engrossing...for one playthrough as it is a Michael Bay-fest of HOOAHS and explosions.
The game is most certainly worth the $10 price tag but nowhere near the $60 its initial asking price.

Very nice game, great campaign/multiplayer, challenging.

I believe that my lack of too much history with the COD games allows me to go into this with a relative lack of bias, a clean slate, if you will. For reference, the only other two that I owned were Black Ops and World at War.
Pros: Fantastic graphics, very fast paced. There seems to be a real sense of emergency at many of the scenes, very emotionally involving. Many people complain about the lack of new weapons from MW2 but having only played that for a few hours, this isn't something that bothers me too much. Varied gameplay is also nice, as the entire game doesn't revolve around storm-the-building type domination tactics-there are many different vehicle parts, specialized packages such as the ARC-130's, etc. Great graphics, great sound design, great gameplay.

Cons: I would say this with every COD game that I have played (just purchased MW2, sure I'm going to have the same issue) that some parts of this game are mindblowingly difficult, and shouldn't be. I started Black Ops on Veteran difficulty so I was somewhat expecting it there, but MW3 I decided to start on Regular. There are parts in this game where the immediate objective seems ridiculously simple, but you might spend an hour trying to get through one room because you keep dying over and over again. There was one level in particular, I forget the name, but you are trying to make a rendezvous with your evac chopper before the sandstorm hits, so you are given roughly two and half minutes to get to your objective. I would say there are roughly thirty enemies in the way of said objective, conveniently placed to play hell with your life, and all armed with guns that will kill you, on Regular difficulty, in about 4-5 shots. I literally had to replay this one individual part about 30 times before I finally got through. The only other thing that I have to say is that the story is a bit difficult to follow. It is one of those games that alternates between different units throughout the levels in the game, so be prepared to keep up with what's happening and to whom.

Overall, though, this is a great game that I have already invested several hours into. I personally don't think that I would have paid the full sixty dollars on release for it, but I managed to get it at a good price on eBay so I am happy.
If you are looking for a good challenge with an intense campaign and even more intense multiplayer, look no further.

Not like Black Ops, big learning curve. Buy used and watch your temper. Ha!

Infinity Ward has put together something for everyone in the latest installment of the Call of Duty franchise, Modern Warefare 3. The Campaign is action-packed and stunning, transporting you by air, sea and land to save the world once again! The story however, is unimaginative and the Campaign mode relatively short. Hardened and Veterin settings add challenge and replay value.
MW3 is unlike Black Ops in many ways (repeat this as a mantra); you'll have to retool your strategy and gameplay. All-new, expansive multiplayer maps, new weapons, perks and powerful Killstreak rewards are overwhelming. Read the manual, watch YouTube videos and play, play, play. The Pros are that it's a visually amazing game, loads of features and varying game modes. However, the Cons are quite weighty, with too powerful launchers, Killstreak rewards, Deathstreak rewards, and players who are just too good to be true. Perhaps the most interesting and rewarding aspect of the game is Spec Ops mode, which allows you to co-op with a friend or a random Live player to complete various Missions or Survive waves of enemy soldiers. It's a great way to get to know other players and party up for the multiplayer battlefield later (or other games). Overall, I'm having fun with MW3, but Multiplayer mode is overzealous and not nearly as thoughtfully executed as MW2 or Black Ops. I applaud their effort and think they'll get it right next time.

Great game, with great features.

Great game 4 out of 5 points easily. The only reason it lacks the five star rating is simply because of the story mode. It lacked a good lengthy story, although the little that was given was intense. This game has hours of online game play and offline game play fun utilizing pvp combat, and strategy. The giant community of gamers that play this game make it that much better. Why is it better? simply because the gamers put on contests, clan vs clan battles, tournaments, and more. So to end my review I would recommend this game with great confidence if you are new to fps, or trying to continue your thirst for a great FPS game.Read full review...

Modern Fantasy 3, really unrealistic, worst COD yet,SAVE your Money!!!

I have played every CoD & some BF games so I can tell you I'm not biased. This game a 2 or a 3 star game, not a 1 or a 5.I expected MW3 to be better than Black ops was, & to be even better than MW2 was.It turns out I tried every mode,& it turns out it is possible for a COD to be worse than black ops.
Single Player:
The single player is by far the worst in a call of duty so far,it is not interesting, & the story makes little sense. It starts off with a continuation of the war between the US and Russia in New York. The first level is just you moving around NY killing Russians. There are many stupid scenes in this mission like when I tried to destroy a Hind with the XM25 I found & words popped up saying weapons can't kill vehicles.Later in that mission you get on a mini gun in a black hawk being chased by Hinds,on this mini gun somehow you easily destroy like 4 attack helicopters. Also in the first 2 missions the amount of Russian ships clogging up the harbor made little sense.Later in the game you end up on the Russian president's jet to protect him from makarov, it turns out somehow a bunch of makarov's men were stowawayed on the plane, ends up that makarov finds him & then threatens the presidents daughter if he doesn't continue the war after they somehow survived a plane crash unscathed. This is incredibly unrealistic,no president would want a devastating & costly war just so his daughter could live. Afterwards we go to Africa, in a location very similar to Brazil in MW2. It seems for whatever reason in this game they tried to make it controversial or something because there is a part where you snap a dog's neck and brutal shoot it multiple times,in another scene price brutally interrogates a guy by setting off poisonous gas, then gives him a breathing mask after getting the info and then brutally shoots him, then of course the little girl gas bombing home video,Makarov getting hanged in the end seemed too dramatic and unnecessary. The other stupid part of the game is how it seems like they tried too hard to make it WW3,by going to Africa,England,Germany,France,Siberia, and the middle east;yet there seemed to be little involvement with other countries apparently involved in the war other than the US,Russia, and the UK.There were several inconsistencies that made it seem more of a modern fantasy, Russians having vehicles from the cold war, heavily armored juggernauts immune to bullets,an unnecessary amount of slow-mo scenes,& several circumstances where it seems like you will die,but by some miracle you live.
Survival Mode
Its a fun addition but was ruined with the addition of suicide bombers & dogs strapped with C4.
Multiplayer
The multiplayer is hardly different from MW2.The engine, graphics, audio, mechanics, are pretty much identical. 26 guns are back from the others MWs.They included proficiencies which are pretty much perks for guns which doesn't make sense. They don't physically add anything to the gun which makes no sense when it changes something like the kick or power of a gun.The grenades are pretty much same except the doesn't exist trophy system. They got rid of some bad perks, but added ones like Quick draw for quickscoping, hardline pro which means 2 assist=1 kill.Stupid deathstreaks like juiced, dead man's hand. Kill confirmed makes 0 sense also, that your kills don't count unless u pick up the red & gold floating dog tags. The infected mode has no zombies just people with knifes, and juggernaunt.Overall the game isn't worth the time or $.

Enjoyable, time consuming, fun you've always expected!

Since playing Call of Duty, I've notice a few things from Activision. That they've begun to become greedy, bastards who seek to rape out as much as they can from COD lovers. And also, there games aren't half bad; I mean seriously, what was wrong with Modern Warfare 2? Overpowered guns? For people who think over powered means you get killed a few times means it 'OP', no Overpowered means you can't get a kill when someone has this gun, it has excellent direction and accuracy; basically god-mode. Same goes with Black Ops, the game was fun; Treyarch did a excellent job on the game, only problem were the graphics they seemed a little cartoonish. Other than that Treyarch did a excellent job on the game and I recommend that as the "new cod game". Now back to the subject at hand, MW3 was a fast-paced, action packed thrill ride which we all love; yet like all COD games it could be improved. I recommend this game to those in love with the Modern Warfare series and COD itself. But to those who don't like it, don't buy it and then complain because seriously, they're a lot of problems with your precious 'Drake's Deception' or 'Battlefield 3', especially Battlefield 3 don't even let me start about the campaign...anyways MW3 is a new game with exciting perks and guns; it's true they bought back favorites from Call of Duty 4, Black Ops, and Modern Warfare 2 but it was still a fun game. Don't listen to these haters, if you want another fun game please buy it, lastly, if you want to sell yours, PLEASE, MESSAGE ME ABOUT IT I'D LOVE A VERY LOW PRICE FOR IT! Anyways, happy shopping, my gamertag for Xbox is Gentleplayer2 if you ever want to enjoy some MW2 or Black Ops.Read full review...

all of the CoD MP's have been entertaining, form your own opinion about it

First off just wanna say not a die hard fanboy, am a general FPS player that has taken a liking to CoD's MP. For all you ppl complaining that it's the same thing as MW2 or the story sucks, all I have to say is this...IT'S AN FPS, if you want a intriguing deep story go play an RPG, or 3rd person shooter. FPS's in general are mainly made for one thing now days and that's MP since online gaming has skyrocketed since the release of xbox live. Granted you still get those decent SP stories the main focus is MP without a doubt though in the main stream shooter's mind.

And if you like the MP of any of the CoD games done by IW then you'll like this one. You can flame all you want that it's the same MP as MW2, but when you look at it all the CoD's MP is the same just diff guns and maps (with the addition of perks in MW1, maybe some updated graphics along the line but I'd rather have them skimp on graphics (slightly) and have smooth gameplay at 60 fps, ya not over the top excited about it, but am interested to see what's new in this one's MP. Anywho that's just my opinion when I see all these idiotic reviews about story and no change in MP.

Basically an improved version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

Basically an improved version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Modern Warfare 3 excels in what it does because it's abundantly clear that its developers knew exactly what they were making. They understood the pacing, the problem with choke points, the need to keep things constantly fresh and frenetic in a linear, plot-based shooter. As a player you're catapulted from one scene to the next, with time to take everything in and enjoy the ride but never time to languish. No section outstays its welcome, or forces you into an endless cycle of killing bad guys. Here, on the odd occasion when enemies do respawn, it's to illustrate the fact you can't handle the odds and have to escape before you're overwhelmed.Read full review...

If you are a fan of COD this is a must.

2011 Game of The Year contender. Stunning and thrilling Conclusion to the Modern Warfare trilogy. The story as well as award winning multiplayer are, for now, amazing . If you have played MW2 and felt uncomfortable with the multiplayer of Black Ops, this will be a welcomed refresher to the Infinity Ward Style of Call of Duty.
EDIT: If your still seeking to buy MW3, I wouldn't recommended as much as I did prior to launch in the review I posted above. The multiplayer will become stall and a short list of problems don't seem to have a fix in sight. Personally, I am enjoying Black Ops now than I did when it was out, so I would recommend it to anyone who looking for a review on it.

Waste of Money, Since its a RECYCLED VERSION OF MW2

Modern Warfare 3 is a game that people knew would sell millions of copies. After playing the game I am never buying another call of duty game again. MW3 is so similar to mw2 that at one point I felt I was playing mw2. The maps are very similar and the buildings and other structures are from past call of duty game maps. The kill streaks are once again stupid as it helps people cheat to get the streaks. Weapons are over powered and people have already hacked the game.

When do marines control small little toy airplanes to kill enemys. How about you make bigger maps that allow vehicles. It seems like I payed 65 dollars for a new set of maps. And story mode feels like a Michael Bay film which is action after action sequences you feel like its war of the worlds instead of modern warfare which makes me hate the game. I mean come on I knows its a video game but your depicting war so make it believable. Plus the story mode is 5 hrs long. How do you make a 65 dollar game that millions of people spend there hard earned money on just 5 hrs long. Activision didn't care since they knew people would buy the game, so they basically made Mw3 a recycled mw2 game. (mw2.5).

The name brand is what gets people to buy the game. Until people stop wasting there money, Activision will be forced to make a better game. Its sad that other company's who put a lot of time and hard work to make great games like Naughty Dog (the maker of Uncharted 3) don't get as much recognition and make a lot more money like Activision does. My advice which I know alot of people who are glued to the name call of duty wont argree is to stop letting Activision take you money. Gamers deserve better. Im happy that there are people this year who are taking my advice and giving call of duty low scores which it deserves.
