Great lens- worth the investment

what a great lens - great quality of picture, easy to focus, and the wide angle is excellent. Not much visual distortion around the edges, no fish eye effect while still getting great wide angle.
<br>The only drawback is that because the lens is quite large, it blocks the built in flash on my canon 550D. I had to purchase a flash unit. Not a big deal, because the flash unit provides better photos anyway. so all it really did was motivate me to get a better flash!

I love it for my primary walkaround lens. I really really like using it, and its great even just for taking photos of people as i can stand wuite close to them and still get a good shot. if its too wide angle, i just crop it later on the computer.

A must-have lens for APS-C Canon cameras

This lens has a great range, equivalent to 16-35mm, although it does seem a bit soft on 18 MP cameras, wide open.

Otherwise this lens is great, adding a filter makes this into a constant volume lens, so it won't suck in dust.

The hood is crazy, so big compared to the lens, I'd leave it at home, especially if there's a filter attached, that's plenty of protection.

Great, versatile lens for travel shots.

Fantastic lens for the price.
Great for landscapes and interior shots.
On a recent trip to Thailand I got some great temple shots, inside and out.
Not too much distortion, even with people in shot, as long as they are near the center of frame.Read full review...

Great value for money

I bought this for landscape for its wide angle. So far I had some nice photo with it, however sometimes I feel the auto focus is not correct. I'm not sure whether this is because of my camera or the lens or just happened by my mistake! Overall I'm happy with this lensRead full review...

Good value!

I expected to make better pictures but not complains, it is a wide angle lens and I did not use one before.

Excellent communication. Prompt delivery. Overal a good experience.

I purchased this product as I will be travelling to Europe in the near future. I already have longer zoom lenses, but with beautiful scenery and architecture to capture this lens will be getting a good workout. It works perfectly and is in great condition.Read full review...

Fantastic lens! 100% worth it!

I love it and I find it really hard to go back to my normal lenses, it offers so much variety that you can just keep using it!

A solid reliable lens great for Landscapes, Architectural interiors etc

This lens is at the more expensive end of the scale for wide angle lenses for the APS-C class of cameras. I chose it over the Tokina 11-16mm because of the extended range and the Sigma 8-16mm purely because of quality issues I've had with Sigma lenses.
This lens feels sturdy but light compared to my 24-105mm or even the Tamron 17-50mm. In terms of use the only annoying feature is that the zoom ring is in front of focus ring - opposite to all my other lenses. The barrel does not rotate or extend which makes it ideal for polarisers & filters.
Shooting with a lens this wide can be a challenge. It makes you think more before snapping away. I personally love the type of distortion/exaggerated perspective you get when shooting closeup to people, vehicles etc. Image quality is good overall, though not as sharp as some might like. If using this lens with a flash you will find your on camera flash won't cut it as half the frame will not be illuminated. Anything from a 270 upwards will do the job nicely.
Overall, I think this a great lens for use in shooting architectural interiors, landscapes or sports.

Amazing product. Great value for any crop sensor user.

Amazing and must-have lens for crop sensor canon users. Image quality and performance is amazing and equivalent of most L-lenses of equivalent wide-angle format.

I really did feel that the 10-22 fills the void for landscape and architectural photography for crop sensor users without spending thousands for a full frame camera. Despite most online reviews giving negative votes on price alone for a lens that becomes unusable if you decide to move up to full frame. the lens is definitely DEFINITELY worth the premium. It also tends to hold its value a lot better than most EF-S lenses so reselling the lens if I upgrade doesn't give me any concern.

Build quality is outstanding, feels really solid and weighty with the added luxury of not extending when zoomed in. Like all wide-angle lenses, a lens hood is necessary to not limit yourself in bright conditions where lens flare becomes common.

Im really excited to shoot with this on a European trip im taking this year, and if you're interested in this lens. just buy it, you wont be disappointed.
