User review canon efs 15-85mm lens
Good quality lens, well built, feels heavy and solid in the hands while using. Autofocus is really fast, smooth and quiet because of the USM motor.
A good upgrade from the kit lens that canon provides because it has a wider focus range that is more useful from the wide angle to zoom. Put this lens on a APSC body camera and you get more focus range and becomes 24mm to 136mm.
So overall happy with this and image quality end resultRead full review...

Well built fast-focusing walk-around short-zoom lens with built-in I/S.
Bought to match a 7D body bought on e-bay in hopes will cover the range of 'standard' lens sizes from widish angle to short telephoto portrait length, which it does well. Not very fast with maximum aperture f3.5, although the stabiliser helps. However, fast Canon lenses don't come cheap and for a start-up lens this covers a great range from 35mm equivalent 24 - 136mm zoom.
Solidly constructed with positive but light zoom and manual focus action. Have not noticed any lens creep although has no lock. Is very quick and extremely quiet to focus and cannot really detect any difference in speed or noise when the image stabiliser is on.
The wide 72mm filter size is a larger than most lenses and a pain as need separate set of filters just for this lens. Makes having a Cokin holder with a range if adaptors a better option, perhaps?
My previous camera had an 18-200mm Tamron zoom and this Canon lens is noticeably wider and sharper although at wide angle and wide aperture with any filter on the front there is noticeable vignetting especially top left, for some reason!?Read full review...
Canon EF-S 15-85mm f.3.5-5.6 IS USM Lens
In the short time that I have had this lens it has shown me how inflexible my existing lens was. The wide angle is perfect without any deformation and the Telephoto is good and sharp even if a little on the short side. But I suppose you can't have everything particularly at the price.Read full review...

Excellent lens
Excellent all-round lens with great focal length and very sharp images. It is also fairly compact and perfect to accompany 70-300mm lens. Also would say better than 18-135mm lens as it is sharper and wider.Read full review...
Canon EF-S 15-85mm IS USM lens
This lens is living up to the reviews I've read about. I researched it, extensively, and it has not disappointed. I would highly recommend it. The pictures represent the extremes of the focal range. 15mm for the landscape and 85mm for the flower. Both at ISO 100.
The close-up filter set is not something that I would waste my money on. It was a bonus with the lens.Read full review...
A great lens at a great price
This is a great lens. Much better quality than the kit lenses that are included when you buy the camera. And the great thing is that this is a genuine Canon lens but at half the price that you would pay in a street store in Australia.
The only downside I have found is that for some reason the lens did not come with an instruction manual. Other Canon lenses that I have purchased had an instruction manual in the box.Read full review...
Nice lens. The image is sharp, however the quality is very close to 15 - 135 kit lens. Good for open wide landscape pic.

Great lens for the cost.
Great lens for the cost. Really sharp when stopped down. When test it had no focus issues, sharp in all corners and no noticeable CA. Great usable focal range. I'm quite pleased with it.
Only down sides a little heavy as a walk around lens and has some occasional issue on low light focus. Also very expensive for the genuine lens hood.Read full review...
