Brilliant Image quality, Legendary brand,and brillant Flappy screen
This is my first DSLR camera. having being using an old Yashica with film roles in Sri Lanka, to point and shoots, this camera manages to outclass all of the rest.
First picture I took came out beautifully, making me proud of buying the camera.
The basic zones are clutter free, easy to use, and for more advanced options there is a little learning curve. I'm a bit optimistic about the kit lens. The inbuilt camera functions are great and you don't need a lot to know about photography to take a pro quality photo.
The flappy, twist screen is wonderful and colours are vibrant. It is visible in daylight. Flappy screen is also great for trying out new angles and exceptionally handy in video mode.Read full review...
Great Camera, Solid Features
This camera has strengths and weaknesses like any, but depending on the application, this camera is a great! Very solid picture quality, but this camera is really the choice for amateur video producers who want depth-of-field in real progressive frames. This is the least expensive best quality camera if you want 1080p 24fps AND 720P 60fps on flash memory (with an articulated screen). There are a couple of 1080i and quasi-24fps (embedded inside of 60i) but it your shooting documentaries, music videos, short films, etc, and you are on a low budget, this camera is for you.
Because its a dslr you will have to get some accessories to make it fully usable for video (stability, external mic), but a tripod is the cheapest way to go for steady shots. This is the little, little brother of the famous Canon EOS 5D, however the 60D is more like the 7D since it doesn't have the full-frame sensor.
Some people complain about the build, but a metal build that people want in this camera, to me doesn't leave me wanting anything. However, the 60D and 7D I think have the same video quality, and just search either the 60D or 7D on Vimeo and you'll see the ability.Read full review...
More than enough for a casual photographer
This is my first SLR. I love it for its autofocus speed and accuracy. Good image quality, and its resolution gives room for good crops. I shoot RAW and process it in Lightroom (which, by the way, I recommend to everybody). With this workflow I get very acceptable results even at 1600 ISO and no flash (thanks to LR's excellent noise reduction). Good build quality, the plastic cover (that is mentioned in every review as a negative point) is sturdy and good to hold. I have used it for children photography, zoo, nature, and have never let me down. I recommend it for casual photographers who have great amibitions.Read full review...
Canon 60d - A++
The canon 60D is the perfect camera for anyone who loves photography and/or videography. With the canon's tilt/swivel screen it is easier to catch those hard low angle and high angle shots. The 60D's ability to capture full 1080HD video and have variable frame rates is a must for video. With the high 6400 ISO sensitivity (expandable to 12800 in customize menu) and 5.5fps it is a very nice arsenal to have for capturing those special moments.

The Canon 60D
I am really happy with this camera.
i owned the Rebel t2i / 550D and switched to this 60D camera.
It is not much a difference, but this camera has exactly the right size, fits very well in hand and i love the flip screen. The 550D/T2i was a litle to small in my hands and i have regular size hands.
Overall this is a very professional camera for the budget.

Change Video Settings before taking videos!!!!!

Word of advice, this camera does not take great video out of the box...
You must put camera in manual and change several settings to get great looking videos...
Go to Philip Blooms website and He'll tell you what settings you want the camera on.
I had camera for 2 weeks taking normal looking videos and I was disappointed that the videos I saw on youtube and vimeo looked much better... But not anymore... Wow what a difference this made for video..
Like I said. Pictures look great out of the box. Excellent with no flash and a faster lens...But video needed help and now it is spectacular....

Amazing Capabilities, with a learning curve.
This camera takes high quality photos and videos. As a semi-pro photographer, the learning curve isn't necessarily the fact that I came from an Olympus DSLR, a quick look through the manual and a couple hours playing with it allows you to quickly change whatever you need. But the learning curve is in the video department. It's a whole new game with a completely different set of tools. Don't expect to be making feature films on this body, unless you're ready to dish out alot more cash.Read full review...
Perfect Step Up
The 60D is a perfect step up to a "pro-style" camera. Excellent response, flexibility and reliability. Easy to use "out of the box" and a lot of ability to create with maximum control of features. Some gimmicky add ins but the articulating LCD is worth its weight in gold. This single feature makes the 60D a very versatile tool by adding ease to odd angles and video. Great for still and movie
It is excellent camera for still images and HD movies because of its articulated LCD high resolution screen, its size and weight is great for me. All these features and other comes in right price.
