At last, a sharp 24mm shift lens

The 24 TS II (not to be confused with the mediocre version 1) is in a class by itself. Optically and mechanically first rate and very simple to use. The shift function is obvious when you look through the viewfinder, and a 24mm lens has so much depth of field that you may not even need tilt capability. But it's there, and some people have fun using tilts to render things selectively out of focus.

Also great for panoramas. Shift to one side, then the other. The two images will stitch together perfectly!

Perspective Versatility

A robust wide angle lens that alters the perspective and plane of focus to enable versatile but acurate renditions of the scene in front of the camera. Easy control is achieved by graduated scales on both the tilt and shift mechanism controlled by small turning knobs. A great addition to any photographers kit bag.Read full review...

Pristine Tilt Shift

Looks brand new, all controls function perfectly. Haven't had an opportunity to shoot with it on the interior project I purchased it for but I know the lens well from previous rentals. Have ordered the Rogeti TSE mount so when shifting the lens stays locked to the tripod, and the camera body moves instead. Read full review...

Canon Tilt/Shift 24 mm Ver. 1

This is a good tilt and shift lens for use on my Sony A7MK2 at a resonal price with an autofocus adapter from Comlite. Fun to use, and good picture quality. You just have to adjust aparture with the adapter as long as the lens only has manual focus.Read full review...

Nice and useful lens. Only for pros or advanced amateurs

The main reason to bought this product was the capability for perspective correction when shooting architecture, I do a lot of this kind of photography. This feature is nice and works very well. Saves me a lot of time in photoshop. Barrel distortion is fine too. At first the controls are a little tricky but after a while you get it. I don't like the magenta cast when shift is beyond 8 mm.
Is important to mention that is a time consuming lens. I don't care about this, but if you are not planning to spend some time learning how to use the lens and then preparing the shot, the experience could be frustrating.

Great wide angle prime with bonus features

Obviously used but in great shape. This lens is not only great as a tilt-shift lens, it’s the sharpest, prettiest wide angle lens I’ve yet experienced. I’ve used it a bunch without tilting or shifting at all. I’ve enjoyed being forced to learn manual focus and manage camera shake- and a Canon 5DS with 50.6 megapixels will let you know when you need to work on those! I’ve used the TS-E on architecture, landscape, and portraiture. I now think of it as a fantastic all-around wide angle prime with bonus features.Read full review...

This quality, yet heavy lens allows you to really change your perspective!

In architectural photography- this lens compensates for the appearance that upright lines, such as the sides of buildings, windows, etc- are leaning away from you as they climb above eye-level. This effect can also be used in a side-to-side fashion to allow the final image to have the perspective as if taken straight on, even when the image was taken while standing off-center.
Another trick with this lens is to create a "slice of focus." Typically, when you focus a traditional lens, you have an area of focus that is flat and anything the same distance from the camera is in focus as well- this lens allows you to create a slice of focus that can be tilted as you need to create your image. This means you can keep a field of flowers in focus from close to infinity, a decked out table remains in focus from near to far, or alternatively- you can manipulate the area in focus to isolate your subject, leaving unwanted items diffused and out of focus- even if they are the same distance from the camera! This lens also has a rotate feature- allowing you to spin the tilt and shift effect to the axis necessary to get your result.
This is the first version of this lens- and default is to have the shift and tilt at 90 degree angles to each other- meaning that application of both effects simultaneously on the same plane is not possible without modification of the lens. (the II version of this lens does not require tools.) However- this setup works fine for most people - and can be altered fairly easily. (Requiring steady hands and a very small screwdriver. At roughly 1/2 the price of the II version- I can live without the tool-less adjustment.)
It is a well built, quality lens - albeit a little heavy. Image quality is good- better than many Canon Lenses, but barely on par with other true "L" glass, however the real value of this lens is in what you can CREATE with it.
This lens has a learning curve that is like learning to play an instrument- the more you play (with) it, the better you will get- but don't expect to pick it up and instantly play a symphony!

Excellent for those who know what it is and how to use it.

Please note that the items here have not been specified whether they are the version I or II of the lens. The newer version offers more axes and degrees of movement. Image quality is better. The filter thread in the version II is 82 mm, that is how you can tell which version you are looking at.

My experience of the version II is very good. The image quality is absolutely superb,
The control of the DOF needs some reading. The exposure readings on 5D II are way off and you have to bracket a lot and look at the histogram.

It is very difficult to define the area in focus on the focusing screen or on the back screen.
I suggest shooting tethered using a portable computer to focus and expose.
This can be achieved with Adobe LR4 and Canon's own software.

You do not really know how good a full-frame sensor is until you have used this lens.

But to correct perspective for net and email purposes you do not need it. All you need is software. Only if you are really seriously into quality will this lens offer you something nothing else can.

This is not a toy. You need to know your needs before investing 2000+ dollars to this lens.
You have to take your time to learn to use is. Still it remains manual focus and exposure.
You have to complicate the way you shoot with an external screen. It is big, heavy and clumsy.

But if iQuality is all you're after, this is it.

True L Lens, Built Like a Tank, Great Image Quality

I'll keep this short-- primarily because if you're shopping for this lens you have already read all of the other reviews out there. If you have the budget for this lens and will take the time to learn to use it (it's not that difficult), it's an awesome lens.Read full review...

A powerful lens. Worth the extra money for the Mark II.

I bought this lens for architectural and landscape work with the 5D Mark II, but I have been blown away by the image quality on any situation. This lens is the best image I've seen on my camera yet. Almost zero chromatic aberration, extremely sharp at any aperture, and built like a tank, this lens is worth the extra money.Read full review...
