its a basic bag, I still put my camera with some cover inside, it has soft interior but still I think the lens may get scratched if left loose.

This is a smaller case that is well padded and has an adjustable pad inside. The construction is very strong with a good clasp on the front. This is a wonderful bag for an incredible price . I use it with either by 18 to 105 or my 100 macro with my camera on its side the long way.
