For the price, value, great lens to have in your bag
I'm relatively new to photography but I did the research, read the reviews, bought the 40 and have started experimenting. I think it's a great lens so far. Tried it with my EF25 11 extender and it takes a pretty good macro too! MickRead full review...
Overall a decent quality lens which have a "toy" feeling
Good lens for the price. Not made in Japan though. Easy to carry, it feels like your lens has been somewhat "cut off"...!
Not up to an "L" lens in my opinion but fun to use.
Fantastic Budget lens, Great value for the quality and Sharpness that you capture

love the depth of field... or lack there of
Great lens for portraits and very good value.
This lens takes great portraits with its sharp image result at very affordable price. It (auto) focuses quite good for portrait but not macro. It's extremely light weight and it's build is good. Although the side of the lens has printed the word Macro, it cannot take true macro image. Extension tube is required to do so. Great lens overall.Read full review...
Great value for money as an entry level lens
Great entry level lens, good value for money. Works as described, is very light and compact. Wider aperture than the standard kit lenses. For amateur photographers this is a great option.
Simple, cheap, straight forward, super sharp, fairly fast prime lens.
Awesome lens for it's super light weight, size, and cheap price. Super sharp even wide open edge to edge. Better bokeh than Canon 50mm f/1.8 II. AF motor is not the quickest, but not bad given small size of the lens.Read full review...
