Excellent camera! Captures beautiful images of everything! A+

Amazing camera! I am really happy with it. It is much smaller and the lighter than I had expected (I was using a Nikon D90 and Canon 5d Mark 2 previously). The low light capabilities are incredible. It is also priced much more reasonably than the Canon 5D Mark 3. In my opinion it is the best full frame camera available at this price point, although there will be new contenders coming later in the year (2014).
I use all manual legacy lenses with this camera for video work. I read online that the view finder can be quite dark and difficult to focus but I have not had any problems and it is much easier than I had anticipated. Of course, an electronic viewfinder would have focus peaking which is a real advantage but you cant have everything :D I also think the size and weight of the manual lenses suit the size of the Canon 6d. They are a great combination. Some of the lenses would be too large on a smaller mirrorless camera, although ideally having a canon 6d and a mirrorless camera with smaller manual glass would be the ideal situation (I dont have enough money for that!).
I also use the camera with a 50mm 1.8 EF lens for situations when I need autofocus. It is an excellent lens for a cheap price (I bought mine for 70 dollars second hand).
If I had to be critical, the internal microphone isnt the best, although bear in mind this is true for almost all internal microphones. While small for a full frame camera (about the same as an APS sized camera), it doesnt have the mirrorless take the camera with you everywhere feel. Again, a combination of both cameras would be ideal here. Different tools for different occasions. Finally, it is more difficult to be conspicuous when you need to be, although this is more an issue with other peoples reactions than the camera itself. Again, combination of mirrorless and canon 6d. Perfect.
I have only had the camera a few weeks but so far I am delighted with it and highly recommend it for anyone interested in having a full frame camera which is lighter, smaller, and cheaper than its older brother (Canon 5d Mark 3). This camera makes any photo you take look beautiful. It is then up to you to make your photos look exceptional!

Woah! Such amazing camera!

Woah! I must say that I'm very impressed by the picture quality and build quality of this camera! Obvious improvements in picture quality compare to my EOS 60D. The build is of magnesium and plastic resin(top cover). Feels solid as a rock even with plastic cover on top! Good button layout for one hand operation. Very versatile function wise, it have multiple exposure mode up to 9 shots as far as I can see. HDR mode is so so, I still like to do HDR manually. Weigh as much as a 60D, very friendly to carry all day. Some buttons are a bit easy to knock accidentally to cause undesired change. GPS and WIFI are definitely great fun to use. Check out EOS Remote app for your smartphone! Please keep them shut off as you don't want these potential battery killers always. Night performance is superb even without a flash, can focus accurately on a dimly lit tree at night. One last thing is the shutter is soooooo silent even on normal mode! Silent mode is just tiny little quieter. The worst thing about this camera would be the price. For $2099 MSRP? That's some wallet killer right there! But I think it s worth it after all. I really have nothing worse to say about this mighty camera.Read full review...
