It scans face and back in the same time regardless of the size weather short or very long paper.
The only thing if you need it for cards or thick cartoons then buy a flatbed scanner.

If your on the road and need to scan a quite a bit of paperwork you need this

It really comes in very handy if you need to scan anything from Legal, standard size paper or any type of Cards. It is some what bulky, but its light weight. For it's size it scans fast and the one I had had the drivers stored inside the scanner. I am using windows XP until I could get my new computer fixed so I am not sure if it will have the drivers for newer Windows OS. If your computer Case has ample space you may or may not get it into your computer case.Read full review

Great scanner for small or large tasks. Built in scanner software. Fast. No power supply needed

Love this scanner, especially great if you just want to scan a few docs to email or fax online. Best part is there is literally no setup required. Plug it in to a micro usb plug same as your phone, Pc recognizes it as a portable drive. Go to that drive and run the exe scan program there. Save scans to pdf with ocr, tiff, jpg. Select settings to save as one doc or each page as separate doc in pdf. You can download more complex & other scan software, twain drivers and such from Canon website support.Read full review

I am "big on" staying with things that work well and not go up to the next model (ie--use windows 7 instead of upgrading, use Dell 1110 printers well after the company drops the model) and that's how this scanner is. Fast and easy to use and the scans are very clear. I was scared to get a "used one" on Ebay but have got 2 and both sellers say they tested them and they work and they did work PERFECTLY.
