One of the best Atlus has to offer!

I cannot express how happy I am that Atlus gave this title a domestic release stateside. This is my game of the year (2011) nomination.

The real meat of the game evolves around a compelling puzzle mechanic requiring you to push and pull blocks into place so that you can climb to the goal at the top of the stage. You progress through the stages and boss encounters and along the way make choices which dictate the flow of the story and the fate of the protagonist, Vincent Brooks.

The story is interesting and primarily revolves around a love triangle and a series of mysterious deaths. The choices players are forced to make are not always cut and dry, often times delving into moral grey areas. The game has a very dark atmosphere and the soundtrack further enhances the game's ominous vibe. Anime cutscenes are done by Studio 4°C and can be quite extensive; coupled with impressive cutscenes utilizing the in-game visuals the storytelling for Catherine is as good as it gets!
