A good-value, light-weight, pack and go terrestrial telescope,
The Celestron Travel Scope 70 is a short-tube f/5 refractor, focal length is 400 mm. If all you want to do is look at wildlife or scenery, you will be pleased with this telescope. All the body parts are made of plastic to reduce weight. Celestron has chosen to supply a flimsy tripod, again in order to reduce the weight. Let's start with the most important part, the 70mm doublet objective lens, which gives adequate performance at this price point. Slight purple fringing from chromatic aberation will be noticed at the highest magnification. This telescope comes with two eyepieces, a 10 mm Kellner and a 20mm Kellner, giving magnifications of 40 X and 20 X respectively. Celestron supplies an erecting prism diagonal, with 32mm barrel diameter, which is a good choice for terrestrial viewing. This telescope is not really suited or intended for astronomical viewing. The tripod is too wobbly, and the finderscope, a 5 x 24 is very dim and blurry. However, it could do occasional astronomical viewing of brighter objects like the Moon and planets, which are easy to locate.Read full review...

Portable easy to use, good grab and go
Lense quality is good, compact, perfect for camping trips. I had read reviews that said the tripod was shakey so no surprise it would be challenging to narrow a point of focus. Hey but for the price and transportability, i cant really compare to a skywatcher 80/400 az3 that i bought at the same time. Mind u, i will be taking the backpack for camping trips, until i get a carry case for the heavier and better quality az3. This one is great for a beginner. Instructions were fully chinese, so suspect grey import, but easy enough to download english manual off a google search.Read full review...

Great First Telescope
Despite other reviews re this telescope I found it to be better that my expectation. In general it is quite good but it is early days. I had read that better lenses might improve it. I am using it in a terrestial situation so haven't tried astronomically.Read full review...

Nice telescope.
Celestron have been making these for years, & are a trusted, well known brand.

It's ok.
It's not a bad telescope but the scope keeps falling down even when you tighten up the appropriate screw to hold it in place. The magnification is ok, not super close up but not bad either. It hurts my neck constantly having to hold the scope in place when it should just stay put.Read full review...

Easy to use, easy to put together. Comes with its own travel case. Great for viewing the stars

I did expect it to be a bit better.
Not the greatest even for kids. Very rickety stand, slightest touch and it moves. Not so easy to set up, needs better instructions.

A product with limited use.
Unable to test product - we have not had a clear sky due to pollution and the fires. We have used the Telescope.

Telescope
It’s a great little portable telescope. When Melbourne has clear skies 🌌 I’m hoping to see the rings of Saturn and some other interesting things in space, stars etc.
