Excellent as Always

Once again China Bayles, lawyer turned herb shop owner, ends up in the middle of a possible murder investigation named suicide. When China investigates, as usual ignoring chain of command and search and procurement procedures, she and her son Brian land in a heap of trouble when a prominent citizen is killed while in the company of an underage girl. What lead to the murder is no surprise to China who has it and an alleged murder sewn up in a flash or does she? Bleeding Hearts is well worth your time reading and if you enjoy herb lore there is a bonus every chapter not to mention the lemony treat recipes in the back of the book. This book has everything to make it a success - potential suicide over remorse, sex scandal, murder and more. I highly recommend you add this to your reading list. We also find out more about the mysterious Colin Ruby is dating and a possible death threat to China's long gone dad and China discovers she has a ... well, let's not give everything away!Read full review...

Bleeding Hearts by Susan Wittig Albert

This is one of the most refreshing series that I have discovered in a long time. Susan Wittig Albert has jumped right up to the top of my "favorite" author list. China Bayles, burned out lawyer turned herbalist and part time sleuth, is called upon to do a little investigating on the side and ends up in a whole heap of mess with her step-son Brian in the middle. Curl up with this book for a great weekend.
