I don't like the upward facing remote sensor at all!
There's a couple of things I don't like about this DVD player, and that's that the remote sensor is on top of the machine. That means that with my current media set up, we have to stand up in order for the DVD player to sense the remote. That's kind of a pain. I've also noticed that the picture freezes, or skips when watching DVDs once in awhile. The skip, or pause is very fleeting - they only last a second or less, but it is noticeable.
On the positive side, the Coby DVD player has no problem reading some of our older DVDs that we hadn't been able to watch on our old DVD player(which was a cheap APX brand)because of damage to the disks.
So I'd say that for the money, this was a good purchase. The problem with the remote sensor is really more of a personal problem than being any problem with the machine.Read full review...
good player for the money
Plays dvds clearly, loads quick...can't beat it for the money. Slim compact design fits nicely on top of any Tv. remote control has many features that make operation easy.

I found the picture to be much better than my more expensive Magnavox DVD player. Very happy with the purchase of this unit. The only thing I wish it did do that it doesn't is hold the memory of where you stopped your DVD like my Magnavox does. Otherwise, it is a great little DVD player.Read full review...

Good DVD Player
This DVD Player is alright to use, I've used it for different things, just that some DVDs you may burn from the computer may not work right in this DVD Player.

Actually it is exactually what I wanted for on my boat. I bought the dvd player for use on my boat and it is just the right size for where I need to put it.
AVOID
The ads and included instructions are very misleading. The player claims to play region code 1 through 6, but actually only played regions 0 and 1. Tech support puts you on hold for 10 minutes, then disconnects your call. I contacted the seller, which was of no help at all. I have located a hacking code from online which finally makes the DVD player region free.

it works great my daughter loves it. she watches dvds and listens to cds on it all day. great product and a great price how can you go wrong
It broke less than a week I purchase.
I bought this one because my other free region DVD player got broke, so this DVD player at the time, I though price was right, but I guess I get what I pay for it. Not recommended.
