College road trip not a good title.

I did not think it a good movie. Not very interesting. Kind of boring to my way of thinking.

Bound for the 99 cent video grocery store bin

The premise is semi-worthless to begin with: frantic dad sticks his nose in his daughter's business as she begins her college career. There is some humor in that, but somehow, it gets worse. The writing is abysmal; of note are the endless babbling speeches by Lawrence, pre-school intelligence level gags, stereotypical characterizations that went out with the dinosaurs, and horribly executed slapstick scenes. The direction is zero: it just poses Lawrence in your face like he's doing a stand-up routine, while other nameless characters do a lousy job of trying to pretend they think he's funny. The amateurish cast's irritating over-acting makes this cinematic flop even more torturous.

The audience, like the daughter character in the film (Raven Symone of Disney Channel 'That's So Raven' fame), will want to escape from Lawrence's manic ramblings as quickly as possible. Expect this one to have a very short general-release lifetime before it gets shelved in the 99 cent video grocery store bin, and mercifully forgotten.

Not one of Disney's Finest, but still ok

It's corney and not nearly as funny as it was made out to be, but still an ok average movie. Towards teh lat 25 mins or so, it becomes more funny and the ending is great and unexpected. Won't spoil it for you. I have to be honest a nd tell you that it does take awhile to get into it, so don't just turn it off an walk away. I promise it does eventualy get better. Martin and Raven do a good job as a father/daughter pair. Just a typical teen checking out colleges with a pushy dad wanting her to do what he wants her to do and not what she wants. So they set out on an adventure that has a lot of bumps in the road and story line twists. Don't be dicouraged by my average rating as you may like it more. Everyone sees things differently and this is just my opinion. The goofy little science nerd brother and his smart pig are cute too.Read full review...

Brand New 2008 College Road Trip DVD - great movie!!!!!

This is a great movie!!! It is definitely a funny movie that is perfect for the entire family. I saw this movie for the first time in the summer with my mom and dad. This movie shows what the average teenage goes through before choosing the right college (I know I did). My dad was just like Martin Lawrence in this movie because it was hard for him to let his “baby girl’ go away from home. My dad eventually lets go and lets me choose what school that I want to go to even though it is 3 hours away from home. I would recommend this movie to anyone who is going through the same college process that everyone has to go through or anyone who likes comedies. Raven-Symoné and Martin Lawrence make a great team in this movie.

The title fits the movie

I liked were Martin thought he had it all planned out for his baby Raven as she grew up and they bonded just like fathers and daughters do.But when it came time to go to college, Raven didn't want to go were daddy planned on .Then
they find out there not as bonded as they thought.Raven wants to go check on another college with friends but dad tells her no.They go on a road trip to the college and they start to bond like father and daughter .I didn't dislike
anything about the movie .I decided to buy it because I new it was going to be funny with Martin Lawrence. This is a good family movie .

College Road Trip

Its a family movie made by Disney that will make everyone laugh. Its nice to watch a movie with the family and if you have to get up and walk out of the room you will have a piece of mind knowing that nudity or foul laungage is going to come up on the screen while you are gone also every parent that has had their child go off to college can relate to this movie. I would say its a must see movie and a movie that everyone should have in their DVD collection.Read full review...

A Light college road trip romp

It's silly. It's mildly funny. It's Donny being Donny and that's a good thing. It's a light family-friendly romp/roadtrip from heck. Donny makes fun of/with himself as he deftly does, and he's truly funny. If you go in expecting exactly what the front cover illustrates, you will enjoy the film. A lot of college and family stereotypes that are overplayed to the tee. The film was directed to be a little over the top, and it is.Read full review...
